Ice is used by anorexics, as not only does it cool the body it makes you feel 'full' without really eating anything.

Cold water has the same effect, ice moreso simply because it's colder therefore takes more calories to heat up.

i dunno what type of science magazine you have been reading but eating ice wont burn off fat as your body temperature is 30 degrees and ice is 0.
it melts instantly.
It works more effectively if they crunch the ice in their mouth and swallow and to not let it melt in their mouth - that's not good for your teeth.
Also the temperature drop in your stomache will cause it to shrink and you eat less, however this isn't good either. I'm not recommending it lol but I know some people would like to go to the extreme :rolleyes:
Make sure the ice is not yellow...

Yet another "myth".. Eating ice doesn't aid weight loss whatsoever.
It leads to..
. An upset stomach (due to your body not being able to handle the ices temprature)
. The possbility to catch a cold (Especially if this is done in winter, as your body temprature will lower therefore enabling you to catch a cold much easier. Eg, I can't drink venti sized frappuccinos in the winter as he coldness of the drink lowers my overall body temprature)
. Sensitive teeth (Bit blatent to why you'll get sensitive teeth!)
. Anemia (Iron deficiency - a longer term caused, was told this by my dietican)
But to lose weight is stupid. It's been on pro-ana sites for years and i'll guarantee (through my own exp) that it aint true!
You have more chance of catching hypothermia than you would losing weight.
of course having a diet of ice is going to dramatically cut your weight down
I eat ice, its an addiction :P Like i'll get a cup full of ice and eat away ;D
