New forum. "looking for staff"

Hey, new forum has been made. Basically its a flash/animation forum were you can show your art/animations/games and get help. We are looking for staff to help keep the bored under control when it gets more members. Join and send a pm to chaos if you are interested, thanks.

he is only trying to help

I agree, it seems very unprofessional and the banner is just....well.....stupid

This is called constructive critisism

change the banners sub title and get a domain and it would be a bit better

I have to agree wtih REDNECK and iJoe here.

The banner puts me right off it and it doesn't look too busy.

That is not constructive critisism at all. They were no pointer's no nothing.
The banner's sub title is staying the way it is. I don't see what the problem is with it. Who cares really? If you have ever been on an animating forum, it is usually a laid back commumity.

We're trying to help. What was the point in posting if you are just going to ignore our advice and come across as someone with a negative attitude towards everyone that tries to help? This isn't going to give a good impression of the forum and management.

Its basically like saying "Yeah your album is rubbish" Or whatever, that would not be helping would it?
Btw who said it was ment to be professional ?
The forum is meant for lads who just wanna have a laugh and share there creations

I agree it might be a bit better with a proper domain.
I think that people will just look at the .co.nr domain and think "oh it's bound to be rubbish" before they even give it a chance.

Good luck with it anyway though :D

The only reason I am getting a .co.nr domain at the minute is because I do not see the need in shelling out money for something that could quite easily ignored and forgotten about. However, if the forum proves successful and I get regular flow of traffic on the forum, only then will I consider shelling out money for a better domain. For now I think the services I have are good enough for what I am aiming for. And just because it's a free domain doesn't mean the content is rubbish, it just means that the owner doesn't have the money to pay for a domain, and maybe people should change from the normal, ignorant selves and give smaller sites/forums a chance."

I agree entirely, people should stop worrying about the domains and give forums who can't afford proper domains a chance.

But the problem is people won't. Like I've said before, people will look at the domain, see that it's being hosted for free somewhere and doesn't have a proper domain and will assume that it's going to be just another site that's not going to have anything good to offer.

I'm not saying that this is the case with your site, but you need to make a good first impression with a site and a free domain will put people right off.

I also think that, like other people have posted, the banner may also put people off a bit. I know you've said it's meant to be a layed back forum but it should still have at least look like it's been set up professionally.

At the moment, I think you are going to have a hard job finding someone to visit your website, and an even harder job making them stay. Like I've said, you need to make a good impression and having a free forum, free hosting, free domain and an unprofessional looking forum will put people off.

Good luck with it anyway though ;)
