Ino the moon has gone reddy colour now :)
Only just about see it because of the damn clouds
But yeah this is the last one your gonna see in 7 or I dunno about america might not be seven years there :P
Also I read that if you use a telescope you'll be able to see saturn on the left side of the moon and on the right side is the star leo or vise versa
Yeah ino I can't see it at all now
i saw it again like 5 min ago
There was a thread on here - someone thought it was the apocalypse.
I didn't see it. :nrsandfloorx28:
Someone in america took a picture
http://americanhiking.chattablogs.co...%20Eclipse.jpg
y's it do that?
its something to do with the refraction of light I THINK. it bends around the earth and as it goes through our atmosphgere it does something. or is the something else, i cant remember llol
The light from the sun gets through the edges of the night part of the earth, but the atmosphere filters the blue colour and only red gets through our atmosphere turning the moon red.
Heres little fact i found off a website:
If you were an astronaut standing on the moon during totality, you would see Earth eclipsing the sun. Earth would appear as a dark disk surrounded by a brilliant red ring-our atmosphere glowing with the light of all the planet's sunsets and sunrises. It's this light that we see bathing the moon during totality.
That picture is too perfect to be done without an edit or at least a colour correction. Looks more like mars.
Yh , saw it on ITV news today :P
I don't really understand what's going on even though i'm taking Astronomy lol :s.
I dint see anything :S
Just imagine the earths atmosphere has a filter which stops certain colours from coming though..
The moons on the dark side, the suns on the light side...
The light from the sun directly on the other side of the earth is shining around the edges of the dark side of the earth.. The atmosphere filters all the colours from the light accept from red, the red shines at the moon, turning the moon red
anyway.. Partial eclipse on 1st august!
