No. Genes are too close together so if a child was born there is a high risk of a defect.

i think it's because i'm quite close to my second cousins, so i see it as worse than most - because usually people don't really know/see their second cousins.

I understand where you're coming from. 'They're like your family' etc and I'll stress the fact that my parents didn't know they were related. They met at my nana's wedding and for me to go 'EWW THAT'S GROSS' would be very foolish of me because my parents are 2nd cousins.
I have friends at school where the parents are divorced. My parents met when my mum was 13 and she is now in her thirties and they're still going strong. It just goes to show you that it doesn't matter if you're 2nd cousins, you can still love.
In fact, the only problem I can find with it is that it messes up the family tree big time :p
im sure a religion has people marry their cousins anyway? so it is practiced anyway...
i don't think i would tbh even if they were ''really fit'', just isn't right in my opinion.
