The best bet would be to get xampp or wamp. just google them its a like a server you run on your home computer :D
I recomend you to read about this product first and then install it ;)
http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html
xampp ftw.
:)
I previously used Wamp but yeh xampp is alot better.
I needed to do this the other day and simply installed apache and php, placed the files in htdocs and I could open them through internet explorer... not sure if xampp is an addon to apache but I did not need anything like that.
Yeah xampp is great.
phpMyAdmin is a godsend.
I didn't bother installing their filezilla thing though. Anyone wana explain that?
;)
I used to use XAMPP, got extremely tired of it after a while, decided to install WAMP on my server.
Works great, :) highly recommend it.
Yeah XAMPP is really HARD! :( ill rep u Denta becoz Wamp is what i got working, also is it possible to host like (DOMAINNAME).com over that
?
Well if i right and can remember this from the network i got set up at the school i work at all you have to do is make a C NAME or A NAME in the domain and put in your IP and then add a V host in wamp.
www.wampserver.com is the best I'd say, configurable to exactly how you want it and has some nifty security xampp doesn't ;)
Is it possible to host like uhhm my IP like what you do Lol?
Yup it is possible.
and how would I do it?
Okay from what i can read you want it so people can go to your ip and see the content of your localhost easy what you need to do is login to your router and then find servers or some thing along them lines and open port 80 then have the server on and boom should work.
Grr my dad wont allow me to open ports (would Hamachi work Lol!)
(im onlii 14 btw)
Who cares what he says? He probably has no idea what he is talking about.
Yeah i used to own a private retro for some alts i used and then our downloads kept getting chewed up lol!
That was before i knew about localhost
