what would you say is the biggest gaming letdown ever? (as in overhyped, or personally a big letdown)
i'd say Super smash bros brawl, i expected to be still playing it next year when i got it in February, but ive not played it in weeks.

gta 4
no not rly
Kand and Lynch. IO made nothing but top notch games before it
Every game for the Nintendo Wii.
GTAIV.
Halo 3
Halo 3, due to the fact I was expecting it to be really amazing, but found out it was incredibly flawed when I got it.
Halo 3
NFS Prostreet
Has to be Kane and Lynch, the hype for that game was huge and it really was crap.
kane and lynch
i agree, NFS pro street (racing wise, the customizing was good)
For all those who disliked Kane and Lynch: Dead Men, there is a film adaptation in pre-production, as is there of Gears of War. Both, inevitably are going to suck.
People who say GTA IV are just trying to be controversial.
I've done a little thinking about this before replying so here's where I stand.
Currently, I'm a little dissapointed with GTA IV. The online, imo, is poor and while the single player is pretty good it's nothing amazing YET. (I'm around a third of the way through). The free roaming just isn't as fun as in San Andreas/Vice city either..
I'm just not warming to it.
Also I hyped up Motorstorm to be amazing and it was just VERY shallow when I actually got it & a PS3.
I also feel that the psp is a letdown. I remember playing it christmas morning and being disapointed. Horrible christmas feeling.
The online is boring imho, only free mode is fun and after half an hour it's repetitive.
and the missions are more or less the same as lib/vice/san andreas but in different formats.
it definately didn't live up to it's hype, and the only decent thing is the amazing realism.
But yeah, of course i want to spark controversy on a habbo fan forum
GTA IV.
And that latest Burnout. That was awful.
Halo 3, it sucks.
marvel ultimate alliance
Halo 3 Blew
I don't need to look at 2001. I can look at games even before Y2K that are better than Halo. Obviously the people who think it's God's gift didn't have a great deal of games under their belt prior to its release.

I have to admit the online mode on GTA IV is incredibly disappointing, I'd say it's the worst online play out of all my games. It's incredibly repetitive, boring, unfair and difficult. Games take forever to begin and most the time it creates your own game, meanwhile your party are also disconnecting, it winds me up ever so much. The single player is rather good but a little repetitive 'Kill this guy, lose the cops and bring back the package' and the free roam is pretty rubbish.
Don't get me wrong, GTA is a very good game but it's no where near as good as it was anticipated. You have to remember it was pretty much the most hyped and excitable game ever, it had extremely high expectations and didn't meet them in all ways.
well said, Jordy.
GTA IV was kinda a let down, I finished it really quickly. However, I did find the missions in GTA IV to be really good, shame they didn't have anymore :( The hospital for example was good. I also don't like how you can't run a business like in SA, it could of work in this one plus you can't buy homes with garages or nice homes with different rooms like in SA.
Anything from the Metal Gear series, and Metroid Prime 2/3.
Depends if it utilises blu ray or not.
I can't notice Blu-Ray that much, the only game I've got on PS3 which is definitely high definion is Drakes Fortune with the shiny floor and cut scenes which aren't cut-scenes, just in-game scenes. GTA IV just looks a little bit better, nothing amazing though.
It won't be the way it looks, it will be the amount of data it can hold. DVD-9 which 360 uses stores about 9/10gb. Blu Ray can use 50gb, if they can utilise it and exploit it, MGS4 could be incredible.
Ah well with the PS3 before and after you use an HDMI cable, you see a difference. Data storage is something I always ignore when it comes to Blu-Ray :P It would be cool if game companies could utilise that, they could fit a heck of alot of things in the games, making them longer, exciting, breath-taking and more :D But I guess it will cost the game companies alot of time and money to do this.
halo 3
dead rising
pro street
new burnout
cod 3
thats about all i could remember.
Halo 3......errrrr......Twilight princess, then again the only Legend of Zelda I like is Ocarina of time so I shouldn't have expected much.
Anything to do with the PS3 is a letdown, thats why I sold it to buy more games for my 360 =D
GTA IV, everyone was saying how amazing it was and everything but i really think the older ones were better, like san andreas and vice city i think were both so much better than this one.
