There is a possibility that Micro Black Holes will be formed, worst case scenario, doomsday occurs..

They want to collide protons, which isn't the best idea..

they probably know what they're doing.

Nothing bad will happen.

Yeah, but the fact that there's a chance of micro black holes forming, which can lead to doomsday, not exactly the best experiment to be doing when it can jepodise the whole world..
And there's also Strangelets which can change all atoms on Earth into "strange matter".

It's got a planned date..
The fact that the black holes and strangelets may appear is a totally different thing, but there is a chance that it could happen, the scientists that are operating/building the device have stated that.

Yeah and do you actually realise how unlikely it is that they will be formed? Anyway scientists have predicted if they are even formed that they will collapse as soon as they are formed.

Predictions can go wrong as they are after all just scientific guesses.

IF it happens then it happens...Nothing we can do about it :rolleyes:

If these micro black holes are produced they will just decay due to Hawking radiation, plus in that wiki article it says theres a 1 in 5,000,000 chance of a doomsday scenario.

I'm sure they did this once already in Genova.

Yeah, and it also says that they don't have any clue as to whether the Hawking radiation still exists..and if it does, what it would actually do, as it is only a theory..

I told my friend about this and he's like one of those impossible people and he just makes stupid theories about it all, turning it into a joke with a crappy accent etc.

I read that the black holes will probably be so small that they will evaporate immediately. Even if it did happen it would probably happen in a nanosecond which we wouldn't even notice.

We are not all dead. Maybe next generations are dead, but it's unlikely it will ever happen in our lifetime.

If it was that dangerous that something would happen, it wouldn't be allowed to activate.

Lots of micro blackholes have been produced, they get pulled into the core by gravity. They pose no immediate danger.

Wheres every one getting this information from?

Most of the media doesn't know about it so word isn't going to spread as quickly, plus I think they've convinced everyone that nothing bad's going to happen.

But something bad CAN happen.

Closer to the actual date, it will probberly be all over the news
