I'm in love with my best friend =/

I'm in love with my best friend, Shannon. We haven't known each other for long but we've became really good friends. Just recently I realised that I like her. I've already told her that I like her but that hasn't really changed anything. Recently she was at a school trip to Belgium and my best mate Connor's girfriend Kerri said that Shannon wouldn't shut up about me. She even brought me something back from there, but she didn't bring any for any of her girl pals. Plus I'm really high in her Top Friends on Bebo and she's wrote about me on it and we're always texting each other.

So should I go ahead and ask her out?

Relationships with a really good friend normally either go 2 ways:
1) It does not work at all, and is very awkward (personal experience).
2) It works great, you already know alot about each other. Infact lads seem to become close to girls they find attractive and really want it to work. (Again personal experience, i've been going out with a girl for 7 months who I was really close to before :D).

You both like eachother (alot) and you know eachother well so what better excuse for going out :P.
You only live once, so live it and go for it :)

You should have reversed it by saying "..tomorrow night? GOD woman, let me finish!"

Do it if you think nothing will change between you.

Well I would ask her if she would like to be a friend or something more and say whatever her reply is it won't effect your friendship. Best to be direct I think. :D

Well the main thing here is that you've already told her you like her. She hasn't backed off away from you so that's a good sign. I think you should ask her and see what happens.

I'm sure if you did ask her and she said no, she may not back away from you like she didn't when you said you liked her.

Im in the same circumstances: She went on a music weekend, and apparently, her twin sister (Who im also great friends with) said that while they where on the trip she said: ''You know something, I miss callum'' but i know that she has liked me in the past. And mate, if she's that kinda person, and you think she'll say yes, then go for it man :) Dont be ashamed to ask, she'll only respect you for allowing her to know your feelings!

The fact that nothing's changed since you telling her you like her could mean she's ok with it and is interested but could also mean that she's not into you (as she's not made a move). Personally I'd wait until you're both at a party or something and get with her there, then it's too late for her to back out and even if she manages it you got some

I was best mates with a girl for 3 or 4 months in the exact same situation as you... we've been going out for the past 2 years. It can work =]

All the reasons we split up came flooding back recently, but it's kinda ****e knowing it's stuck like this for a while.

"Stay together for the kid" kind of thing then? Good that you're getting away at least though, even if it sounds harsh it's better for you and I don't know her so she doesn't matter as much haha. Also she's a girl and girls are icky.

Oh yeah didn't think of that, people here just assume I don't care about women already so I don't have to pretend that I do, not a problem for me. If you got any mates who you can persuade to get with her while you're away you can get all indignant about it and not have to stick around when you get back, that's future planning for you

Yeah i just spilt up with my best friend. We were going out for 4 months, but we were arguing alot near the end, and she couldnt take it anymore.
Now she only wants to be best friends agen, and says theres no chance of me nd her gettin bk together :/

It depends on whether if the worst comes to the worst, you think you can cope with going bk to being friends, then how ull react wen she tells u she likes some1 else, and that sorta thing. And it depends on whether you think a relationship could actually work with you and her.

Sounds like she's feelin' you too, so I say go ahead but just think of what may happen after you break up, friendship wise.

if your like her friendship and would ALWAYS want to be her friend then i'd advise you to sit back for a while. if you do just like her then go for it, but after the relationship ends which it could do after god knows how long you might not be able to be comfortable with eachother again and its a loss if you enjoy her friendship alot.

u said u havent known her so long so i think u shd wait a lil longer until ure rly rly certain then u can go for it.

its just my opinion tho. just follow ur heart [:

you best of just going for it, whats the worse that could happen she could say no. then move on but if she is into it you will have an advantage to other relationships as you will know more about this girl than some random broud of the street

sorry to break it to you, but top freinds don't mean much.

secondly, in my opinion i wouldnt go out with a good mate because it usually ruins it, unless it works 100%. Its a calculated risk.
