Just wondering though but what brought it up to be in announcements?

Same, it is rather sick but then again it could be adult pictures being given to under 18's? Dont know anyway i must be happening for it to be posted in announcments, the punishment is fair I would say.

What else could it be? Something like that will make people read and know about the conciquences.
I think it's maybe people been doing cam or something, or taking pics and sending to people which they have then redistributed onwards.

The announcement was with regards to a problem we've had, clarifying that those spreading child porn will be dealt with using the harshest of measures, up to and including reporting them to their IP if it becomes a serious problem.
As far as the legal definition of child porn, it would be displaying genitalia, the bust of a girl, or the buttocks of either gender (scientific and politically correct, whoee!). However, images of under 18s in thongs or other similarly compromising positions distributed without their consent will be dealt with. If it is distributed with their consent, that still shouldn't be happening but the measures taken will be less stringent.
I am not 100% sure what we would do if images of an under-18 were distributed with their consent, I can't think of what rule specifically bans that, but I do remember a 16 year old was posted in her bra before and 8F8 specifically banned the members, perhaps it is reasonableness, you know what's appropriate and what's not. I'll get clarification on what happens if a member were to willingly distribute a picture of him or herself in underwear, but all of the others were still against the rules, we wanted to concentrate on the issues focused on in the announcements in order to show how serious we were about the issue.
I disagree, the announcement had a purpose. And also, the announcement was spurred by, but not because of the issue. One of the things we had to clarify was that since you are "legal" in Britain I think that child pornography would be defined as under 16. I wanted to clarify that for the purposes of this forum 18 and under was defined as child pornography, as much of this forum falls in the 16-17 range its actually quite pertinent.Quote:

The law covering England and Wales defines a child as up to and including the age of 13. From 14-18 they are classed as a young person.
In any event it doesn't matter whether it is a child, young person or an adult there really isn't any room for porn on the forum and it has always been the practice to ban people who post it in my experience.
Whilst sex is legal in the UK at 16, showing pictures of yourself is still 18, so there isn't any excuse. (With that said, its not like anything such as this has ever been allowed)

No form of pornography is allowed, which is why the announcement seems pointless, because you're just announcing 2 things people are fully aware of, pornography and bullying, which are already rules and people should know by now that both aren't allowed. And it's 18 for pornography here, and to be in pictures of pornography you also have to be 18. The announcement was made because of a specific picture getting circulated, so it was needed to highlight the issue. And yeah I did mean Fry lol
