Did they do that because of the new expansion pushing it to level 80?
35g?! That's ridiculous! Soon they'll reduce 60 riding skill to like 200g when I just payed 510 for it, and epic flying mount skill will probably be about 2000 in the near future.
They should give every 1 who has bought mounts recently there gold back :P
I bought my mounts like a year ago, so it doesn't really matter.. apart from epic flying mount.

It's an indirect money making tool imo, the more people they can get to 70 before WotLK the more copies they will sell. Just like the reduced xp between levels 20-60 in a previous patch changing the mounts to be obtainable at 30 will give players more of an incentive to get past the boring levels.

This isn't some ploy by blizzard, it's just to make it simpler for new people buying the game. Frankly if just bought wow and TBC then WotLK, and then started a new character without a lower level mount or Exp at this stage, I'd want to hack my eyes out with a fork so I didn't have to look at the Exp bar again.
I'm glad I don't have to spend so much gold on training but I think it's pretty unfair if you've just hit 40 and spent all that gold on a mount for a patch to come out the next day reducing the level and gold needed >.<

Yeah it makes it easier for people but there probably will be complaints about why they've lowered everything when people have saved up for ages to get a mount :S The game has gotten easier as it is getting older fgs!!
