Just wondering what other forum users think of the way the forum is managed and the way the mods behave etc.
Im unsure, as MGMT dont listen to the decent things but they listen to the pointless things =l
I think the way the forum is run is great, so yes I'm satisfied ;)
I have had a good moan about certain issues in the past but it all seems to be running pretty smoothly at the moment :) so well done to all involved. :eusa_danc
yh its good
If I'm allowed a go, I'd say everything was going rather well atm. In general, the less work I have to do, the less problems there are and therefore the better things are going. Its been a quiet couple of weeks so far, so I don't have any complaints. Maybe I'm biased though ;)
No, there are too many chiefs! This forum is top heavy.
The management don't listen and there's too many rules.
no thats why i resigned
The management do listen, how is there too many rules?! If you don't like the rules, leave...there are so many rules as HxF has to abide to HabboUK fansite way, and obviously keep the community happy and keep them clear of all the abusers, trollers, spammers, etc.
I don't think its any secret that the way the forum was run a few months ago was far from great, but it seems to have improved a lot recently so I'm happy :D
I put don't know, because I like the way the management acts, but some of the moderators need a tweak of attitude.
I think things are starting to pick up. It's good now that there isn't a forum manager.
They must be doing something right otherwise the forum wouldnt be so popular, I occasionally disagree with things but overall its pretty good :D
I think it's all good in the hood. :D
I voted Yes obvv.
I personally still don't like the way it is being run at the moment. Last year the management was superb but mostly since Feb this year I think the staff really seemed to have changed attitudes towards the users. And Hiro, commenting on what you said: If there are so many rules in place to keep people happy then why are they making people unhappy? Defeats the point completely.
Also I do think I personally are picked on by staff members like Nick. as whenever I ask for rep to be removed it is never removed and every time a +rep is removed instead, it is so obvious that the reps I report are completely pointless aswell. When I report this to higher members of staff I just get flamed by them because they don't care. Nothing to do with them as far as their concerned.
Another example of over-the-top infracting is when I named a scammer on habboxforum who managed to become a member of staff again on here. I found this extremely piss taking since he can easily scam anyone on here. I don't know how but after he confirmed a deal the thread dissapeared and I am accused of accusing a member of scamming. He was given a warning but because so soon after that all the warnings were removed he was able again to get a job on hxf without any evidence that he's a scammer. Also he hacked my msn account at the same time. And I only trusted to trade with him in the first place because apparently I was told that because he is hxf staff he wouldn't scam me. Big lot of use that was.
This is what I think is so corrupt about the way the forum is run, the mods never think twice. Especially because this really happened and then what? I get punished instead of the scammer! It's just terrible.
So no, I still think the way the staff run the forum isn't good at all.
It clearly states in the rules im afraid that, if you accuse a member of scamming you will be taken Through the PM -> Warning -> Infraction process.
Ok if this person did scam you then report it to the higher management, there is no need for you to post it on the forum a simple PM to the highers with evidence should be good but please also remeber that some evidence is not taken ito consideration because for all we know you could of alterd it :)
I am a member of staff myself but I do sometimes think there is a lack of effort in some cases, like when I request my VIP features it can take days or even weeks! This could easily be sorted by getting some more VIP editors to help this constantly growing forum. To be honest there is nothing else I can think of that is wrong with habboxforum. Loads of hard working staff and a very nice community.
Management do not listen I reported via PM and the report button a thread that breaks UK and international law and nothings been done
The fansite way I read it with great interest do not say they abide by it, if they do why is there VIP still, this is against the fansite way. You say leave if I don't like the rules, where did I say I hate rules, I mearly mentioned there was to many.
It doesnt take over 40 members of staff to do this job, the forum isnt a hustle of activity like Casual Discourse, SomethingAwful (Worlds biggest forum with 25 staff members) and what LivingWithStyle used to be.
They keep the community happy? I see nothing but "Staff are picking on me", "staff make bad choices".
So please do not hide behind the fansite way, as this clearly isnt the case here.
That's not strictly true. For example, I could (if I wanted to) change people's names, give them rep points or change their usertitles with the access I have now. The problem is that if I did that AND nvr (and any other editors you wish to hire) tried the same, it'd either get done twice (e.g. 30 rep points instead of 15) or not at all. Its a classic case of too many cooks, we've tried it before and it just didn't work. Having one editor might take slightly longer (usually within 24 hours unless nvr has personal/PC problems) but everything gets done right :)
Heyy, don't shoot the messenger :P That's the line that's usually taken when that issue comes up, and I can completely see their point of view. In an ideal world, one editor would know everything that the other had done and it'd work fine, in reality it just doesn't pan out like that. The current system works fine until nvr is away and a replacement isn't assigned immediately, which is where you get the delays, but they're usually few and far between.
You can't compare this forum to other forums because, sorry guys, a good amount of members on this forum are more immature than on other forums. Also, we have younger staff. SomethingAwful has guys 16-19? Congrats, most of our staff haven't turned 16 yet. We're not based on a community where we have a mature audience yet, and therefore not only is there more moderation needed but also more people are needed to do it, checking on each other because judgement is not perfect yet, and you can't expect them to be.
On a side note with VIP Features, I don't do features, Nick does, I do VIP additions. I'm not throwing him under the bus, I'm just clearing that up. Its not the fact that two isn't enough (if we used two for features the multiple people causes confusion reason would make no sense as we would already use multiple people. However with this system Nick and I have different jobs.) We tried using two/three people for features before (Barkseh, Baving, and myself) and it was hectic. Yes we can post in usernotes as we do them, however that trebles, maybe quadruples the time spent on each person, as well as forcing us to jumble between more windows which means things get slowed down much more and also that each admin is less productive, meaning we need more admins to cover all the jobs. Admin efficiency is a key issue as every admin is a vulnerability, so is every SMod but less so than an admin.
I said yes because if a forum this size and everything didn't work then it would be chaos and i think the running of it by the Forum Admin, Moderators and even the staff replying to relevnt help forum is good :)
