Yeah, the games have been alright, apart from the annoying hoohah over Michael Phelps.
I just think fake fireworks are stupid.
I am hoping to be out the country in 2012 lol.

Its not about giving athletes the stage to become well known within society and the medua, its about proving you are the best in the world at what you do. Phelps deserves every accolade that comes his way, hes a truly amazing individual for doing what he worked hard for and is able to do.

New athletes are introduced all the time. You can't say to some 21 year-old world champion e.g Usain Bolt, that he can't come back and compete in London because new people have to be seen. If you'd watch other things, you'd realise that new athletes are coming up all the time.Quote:

@kk, exactly. Although yes, pros will always be there, and they will be accepted. The olympics is where they are meant to become 'legends' and well known. I just think Phelps got WAY to much 'air-time'. Yeah, he won 8 medals. It does not make him a legend, jeez. He is a US Hero, maybe, not a worldwide/olympics legend.

If you've been watching Sky Sports News recently you would have seen clip of the Olympics in the 1910s. No-one went to watch. the opening was far better than the closing performances. I could tell some sort of tower would come up because of how the platform was built

I'm really looking forward to London 2012, but I have to say I personally wasn't that impressed with our segment there. It was alright, but nothing spectacular.

The fireworks at the opening ceremony weren't fake, they were actually there. Although they were deemed unsafe to film, so they recreated them for television audiences.

Awh damn, they even had the Red Arrows at the London party as well as Phelps, I wish I went now. I'm gonna be kicking myself for a while. :( I'm definitely gonna attend the London 2012 Olympics though.
