Has anybody seen this? I first noticed it in a PS3 sales manual the other day in GAME. Looks quite good, but I've done a bit of research and it keeps being postponed for some reason. Here is the Wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlaySta...September_2008

The PS3 Home official manager said its out next month. I am getting my PS3 for Christmas so I cant wait!

Will be fun to buy a nice big apartment with a Pool table... and throw a Bravia down the stairs!

Will the furniture and stuff be free do you reckon?

first thing i thought when i saw it was sims.

they will give you a basic set apparently then you would have to buy the more nicer ones

There will be ads in it I believe, and can't remember how it is supported.. it's free to join and walk around, but I think some things are paid for.

I bet achivements unlock special items to put into your "apartment" and to sell or something.

They say Sims because the graphics of this relate to the Sims graphics ;P They are both a simulation system.. but I think home looks a little better then Sims^_^.

Yeah, it does look a bit like the Sims, but it won't be much like it, only the buying of furniture and stuff. You won't be able to get jobs and stuff.

It's free, but furnishings, etc, cost real money. Looks great.

The closed beta has been going on or about a month now for those in the USA. There will then be the open beta.

The closed beta actually started in 07 if I am not mistaken :P

Well some kind of invite-only beta was released about a month ago.

Yeah, I think that the current BETA testers could invite people.. or Playstation Magazine people one..

It was definitely official. I remember now that if you downloaded the PlayStation Home theme, you were eligible to be selected to join the beta. The day came, and invites were send to random downloaders of the theme via email.

****, I was going to download it.. eh, it should be out one day :P

yeh, thats what i heard anyway. known about it for a year now and im still excited about it. You can invite your friends to online games and join in 1 game (so youll always get in the same room) display trophies in cabinets in ur apartments etc. The characters are FULLY customizable. Any skin tone (within reason) hair colour, lip size/colour etc

looks and sounds awesome, its just whether it lives upto its name like LBP

I can't understand everyone's obsessions with Little Big Planet? It looks so childish.

I agree with Misawa.

well people have preferences. I think its innovative and theirs nothing out there like it on a console. Its just good that your able to download user content levels, rate it and make your own levels. Not everything is about graphics and what it looks like

Home, the furni is not free. You can use real money, but when PSN cards are out, you can use them. You can upgrade your apartment and have Bravia HD TV's on. Pool Tables. Bowling alleys in your apartment and what not.

I think some people are not getting the gist of Home at all. The BETA was for people who downloaded the Home theme. And maybe people who signed up to that 'Qore' thing. Anyone wanna tell me what Qore is btw?

same. its about being able to chat to friends youve made and to join the games you have. A place to show people your achievements and to catch up with things. Not a place like sims where you make houses, or do missions :)

I think making houses, well, decking out your apartment to be precise will play a cool part. I know I will be hosting little events with some mates when no-one is coming out. Will be a laugh.

Can you use headsets in Playstation Home? Would be quite cool. Onscreen keyboard would be so annoying to talk with.

Yah, headsets, onscreen text and farts.

I like the look of the new PS3 Keyboard. And the Socom Headset.
