Apple are like all companies, they charge for their products. Microsoft charge £137.01 for their basic operating system and £225.10 for their ultimate OS package. Yet Apple only charge £83 for their full operating system. So Microsoft are just in the wrong as much as Apple.
Apple have went with the Mini Display Port to start standardising everything across their own range. I don't see why that's a problem since that generally doesn't affect Windows or Linux users as it's only the Apple customers who need to comply. It may be a ***** now but it will eventually be a great help.
For instance the fight between Firewire and USB is a *****, where I would have to scramble through tons of cables just to get the right one. I'm now just sticking to USB as it's more recognised. Apple are just trying to do this with their own choice as it suits their new ranges needs.
