You have a statutory right under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 (as amended) to a refund – technically the contract will be rescinded. Seven days is policy, but your statutory right will relate to a 'reasonable' amount of time... which can even extend up to six months. Two weeks would clearly fit under what is classed as 'reasonable'. If you wanted a refund because you didn't like the colour, that's a different ball game... but in this scenario it's not of 'satisfactory quality' if it comes with an oil stain, is it?
