if tpb gets shut, another site will take its place. pretty pointless tbh
Not a chance of it happening.
They claim that if they get taken down/servers conviscated again they can be back up within 3 minutes, so ya know...
They aren't doing anything illegal, there isn't a chance they will get prosecuted, nothing to worry about.
They have servers spread out throughout the world and not even the owners know where they all are, they are also doing nothing illegal so they will have no chance of shutting them down etc.
They won't be done. They host none of the warez, they just link to it. It's swedish law, so they should be fine.
They're good at what they do, they will not get jail time or a government fine. They may fall foul of the civil (suing) case though.
I'm not sure of what will happen tbh.
Hopefully they get charged and the government or whoever get access to list of its clients and track downloads and fine everyone who downloaded illegal files, then i laugh at 99% of the forum.
Would be bloody classic though, all the cheapskates at long last have to pay :P
Hell the music/movie industries would be making trillions within hours.
They don't keep records of any torrents or trackers. So I doubt that would work :P
You have huge issues, always wanting to see people get "owned" for using illegally obtained software. I have used torrents many times to get copies of CS3 as I don't have the disc nor can I get a trial... I do however have a legal serial number to use with the whole CS3 suite. So does that involve me with illegal activities?
I also use torrents for getting things off of revision3... does that make me illegal? Not everything torrent is illegal, stop been so narrow minded.
Yes because you can request another disk from Adobe i'm pretty sure if you verify you have a valid serial number; the fact you have a legal serial number doesn't beat the fact your illegally downloading it in the first place.
Did i say everything is illegal? no i did not. Did i mention music and movies yes i did.
OH HELL LOOK AT THAT, I even mentioned everyone who downloaded ILLEGAL, yes can you read that, ILLEGAL files.Quote:

ILLEGAL
Can you read that? Don't post if your not even going to read the thread then try to argue with me.
I have to say that you have turned into a complete ass hole about this whole illegal downloading thing lately. People do what they want so leave them to it.
Got to agree with you there Tawm.
Edit: You're totally on your own here, let me guess you had a bad experience or something? One day you started torrenting, your dad found out and told you off for stealing. He then completely brain-washed you and made you pay for all your music and movies etc and while you spent so much on it all, thinking you're helping the industry keeps going, everyone you know does the torrenting and you just get jealous :P
Ofc i am because 99% of the forum download illegaly, their not going to complain about it are they?
86% of statistics are made-up. It's quite evident that there's lots of people who download legally, look at this thread here: http://www.habboxforum.com/showthread.php?t=561025
The only difference is they're not preaching and keep their mouth shut. It'd begin getting very annoying everytime someone mentions iTunes vouchers if the whole 'Pirate' lot came over and started posting links to trackers.
I'm not mentioning it in every thread, i'm mentioning it in my thread. Difference ;)
Aha well now you are a fool.

Maybe I do have far too much time on my hands but one things for sure, you don't half talk a load of ********.
PWNED.
Correct; but other guy said "recently" i've not posted in every single thread about it, if you want i'll look over every thread about illegal downloading and i will post in it.
Those threads were not exactly within the last few weeks? ;)

LMAO. Well done Jordy :P
I see keyword "lately" which would indicate last few weeks
Oh last post was in mid-january
half of the threads are recommending people buy from retailers? hardly complaining about torrents?
and at your last posts edit (last page). No i've just never downloaded illegaly, i don't see the point in breaking the law to get something i can afford its just stupid. and half your excuses are just idiotic
"Oh thats stupid why pay £300 for software which i can download for free"
which is the same as
"Oh thats just stupid why pay £3000 for a car when i can just steal it"
i think your pissed because youve bought all your stuff like PS and DW and whatever else and others are just d/l. Use your common sense and u d/l it illegally. So long as you dont do it often they wont prosecute you. I fail to see how the industry expects people to know how to use programs which cost so much. £400 a piece of software is not in the price range of teenagers...
Common sense says don't do something you can get jailed for? not the opposite way kid.
I'm not pissed lmao
If you can't afford £400 theres always alternative software out there. Most teenagers don't even need it but to make habbo signatures
dont u ******* call me kid...
and tbh, it does sound like ur pissed.. moaning about how people d/l for free. Its not the fact that you cant use other software, its the fact that the design industry wants specific experience with one of the most recognisable applications. dreamweaver, frontpage, photoshop, illustrator, flash etc... Strangley enough, it all costs around £300.. surprise surprise.
And thats another point, why would u want to fork out that much money just to make a habbo signature. Maybe they want to use the features that PS has and not use crappy paint to try and apply a shadow
Looks like we are hitting on someone's nerves here ;)
Downloading the software off of torrents for things such as the adobe photoshop cs3 installer is not illegal, as in reality its just a copy of the trial downloads they had on the adobe site before they replaced them with cs4. It becomes illegal when you activate it using a keygen, etc...
if theyre that bothered about them losing X amount every year then they should invest mroe time and money in making the trial copies more stringent on how they are activated. Im sure if they did that then they wouldnt lose out as much,, ie, money put in < money recieved
They should spend more time making the trial copies harder to crack, but I doubt they will, as people will break it as fast as they solve it.
Without torrents/rapdishare downloads of photoshop the chances are it wouldn't be leading in the industry.. so in a way they can almost thank the community for that.
That kind of excuse is just plane lame. "Oh i want a CD player for my car, it doesn't come with this feature and i can't be bothered paying for it, hey theres a similar car with a CD player lets steal it".
not rli..
If you read my post i said illegal files such as keygens/music, etc.
I'm pretty sure they couldnt just open their application and stick in "MONEYZ RECEIVED < LESS DAN MONEYZ NEEDED = PRODUCT NO WORK" and there'll always be ways around it and making files more secure could cause more problems for clients, i think the spore game it was that had that and clients suffered?
LOLOLOOOLOLOL yes its due to torrents that its popular
Loads and loads of people would not be using it if they had to pay it. In some ways it ends up better for them, I wouldn't have bought a license if I hadn't had used it a good year before illegally, sometimes 30 days just isn't enough of a trial ;)
If it wasnt popular in the first place not many people would know of it so it's hardly have any people uploading it on sites for people to download in the first place, furthermore it'd have hardly any users downloading it if it wasnt popular.
There is a huge difference between popular and the market leader with the biggest usershare.
Corel Draw is "popular" but its not the market leader.
So you think its benefiting the company losing thousands due to people illegaly downloading their software? LOLOL.
