Yeah, Wales and Scotland have dropped their joint bid for hosting the 2016 tournament due to the "global economic crisis". Just seen it on BBC and Sky Sports News.

Yeah, it's a shame they don't have the money to run. They have decent grounds and fans etc would have been nice.
I don't think they would have got it anyway, I don't think there's enough World Class stadiums and facilities in Wales and I doubt there'd be much use for them after the tournament if they were to build them.
Isn't it something like 14 stadiums that have a capacity of 40,000+? Or is that just for the world cup?
Yeah but then you think that the world cup is going to SA... they've had to build stadiums. I only know that Wales have Cardiff which is awesome and Scotland obviously have decent ones. If they needed more they could have altered a few or even built some more, just the money issue.
If it was England, Scotland and Wales, then they may of got it.
And what a mess the side of it is!

England are more than capable of hosting an international tournament by itself. Especially with all these new/redeveloped stadiums planned.
Plus Spurs and even Twickenham.Quote:
Wembley Stadium (London, 90,000 capacity)
Old Trafford (Manchester United, 76,212)
Emirates Stadium (Arsenal, 60,432)
Liverpool's planned Stanley Park stadium (60,000-80,000)
West Ham's planned new east London ground (60,000)
St James' Park (Newcastle, 52,387)
Everton's planned Kirby stadium (50,000)
Planned new Nottingham stadium (50,000)
Stadium of Light (Sunderland 49,000)
City of Manchester Stadium (Manchester City, 47,726)
Villa Park (Aston Villa, 42,573 could rise to 50,000)
Stamford Bridge (Chelsea, 42,055)
