Bit OTT with 7 mods isnt it?

Alot of people post in it but yea, 7 is alot for one forum :P

Aren't they doing sports etc as well?

Yeah, 7 is abit much.

Perhaps necessary though in a forum like Spam. It's only OTT if the other forums don't have enough moderators.

and considering most are trialists it's probably just to see who copes better in there?

The General Forum as a whole is a difficult Forum to Moderate. There are several Forums there with considerable rule breaking so having a high volume of Moderators will help to combat that rule breaking.

Is it really going to have a negative effect having 7? :P Also a lot of them are trialists so post trial may get switched around, we are also trying to get some of those forums under control and this is a test, we can always lessen the number of assigned moderators if need be.

We'll never please everyone :P First there isn't enough moderators, now there's too many! Crazy world.

Exactly, it's not like the other forums will be losing out, A thread was made recently about how there aren't enough moderators in spam and now theres too much?

I agree ^ when I moderated the general section I think it was just I and Biohazard. I mainly concentrated in spam and Bio else were but we moderated the whole forum. In spam it was an extremely hard job, there were a lot of rule breaking going on and people believing it was ok to do so as it was ''spam'' with meaningless threads/posts. In spam you are constantly editing people’s posts, removing inappropriate content, issuing user notes, warnings and infractions. When I was doing this I had a lot of negativity directed towards me for doing the job which hadn’t been done very well for a while. When I was fired as a moderator and I think 4 new moderators went into the forum to moderate it people were complaining that there was not enough moderation, from what I could see there was none.

I do think that 7 moderators, even if they are trialists are over the top. Three active moderators in the forum who deal with rule breaking and clearly set out rules for the forum from the GM/FM would help the forum a lot and save a lot of ago of moderators being accused of being power mad or not doing their job.
