Because I think it isnt but I dont really know
anything over a U is technically a pass I think, but most people regard a C or above as one?
A*-G is considered a pass, however most people aim for an A*-C.
Yea, I thought it was C
Like said above, most people aim for A*-C however I do think anything down to U is still counted as a pass.
yeah, its a pass but some sixth forms and other educational institutions only recognise a*-c as a pass.
Considered a pass but you definetly do not want a C or lower on your final grades. Resit It If I were you.
yes it's a pass
I sure hope so, because I am a bit ditzy.
Actually at GCSE over an F is a pass, so the grades G and U are kinda pointless really. When you get to A levels (if you do them) it's at that point that over a U is a pass
Yeah its a pass. The only reason why I know this is because I got a D in PE.
anything except U is a pass it's what you decide is a pass for you i think most people regard C as a pass but i know at my school B is regarded and minimum grade.
A* to F are passes but collages and so on generaly require Cs and above in related subject and the basics for you to attend any A levels or courses at the same level.
So if you get lower then a C in the majorty of your subject and you want to go to collage then you'll have to spend an extra year or two to get the same qualification you would if you got A* to C in your GCSEs when you would only have to spend one or two years at the collage, sixth forms on the other hand generaly only take students who have over Cs in the majorty of there subjects but it depend on how good the sixth form is and how many student are going, like at my school (its not very good at all) hardly anyone is staying for sixth form so they have said that we don't require Cs and above aslong as the teachers feel that we will be able to manage the A Level/s.
Its not the same everywhere but that’s what its like around here.
Anything from C and above is classed as a pass, and I guess below D is a fail.
C is what you are wanting for it to seem decent.
Yes but nobody cares about it.
A* - U Yes.
Yes, it is, But jobs and universitys look for A*-C grades only.
You don't know how bad my school is they only offer about 12 subjects to sixth form students, at least four of them aren’t at the school (there all based in other collages and sixth forms in the area.), the rest are maths, English lit, 3 sciences, applyed science, law (and that’s done over a web cam so you don't actually meet the teacher) and design n tech, although our design department is actually one of the best in the area, so that’s the only plus.
Anything above a F is a pass (I think). But other places consider C a pass
Theorietically it is, but what people see as a pass is a C or above.
at gcse a goverment standard pass is a C in any subject. At AS/A2 any grade is considered a pass.
depends what context.
college/uni - A*-C
general - A*-G
I thought anything above a U was a pass?
Just better grades mean your options are more open.
+ If you want uni then you need C+ for more "ucas" points if they still do that.
Like said above generally people say A-C but some courses now accept a D as a good pass. I know when I was at school last year, Execell in science and maths said D was a good pass.
A* - C
I can't imagine how you can get a D for GCSE as their not that hard.
Plus mostly in schools which are private, as well as most tertiary education sectors consider that as a pass.
You won't be able to do A level in that subject if it isn't a C or over. D is a pass on lower levels and C is a pass on higher as far as I am aware.
Further education is tiered into levels.
A*-C = access to a level 3 course.
A*-E = access to retakes or a level 2 course
A*-G = access to level 1 course
U - start from level 0. eg. Introductory diploma.
LOL, I'm still none the wiser, the poll is 55% to 45%????
In my school, if we want to come back for A-Levels, You have to have at least 7 Cs even to pick your a levels
Poll is now at 50/50 LOL, well comfusing.
Even though anything below a C is frowned upon I always thought 'U' meaning 'unmarked' was the only fail grade and meant you got so few points you haven't passed or that was what my teachers told me anyway.... From that description I always assumed D grades were still a pass.. I'll be honest and say I got at least one D and still got points from it to get into college lol
A*-G is a pass but A*-C is a higher pass.
Don't worry about it too much my mum managed to get into uni with a D in maths when she was supposed to have atleast a C!
