Classic scenario -- what does one do?

Okay, lets sort things out. I'm really good friends with this girl at my school -- I'm the only guy in school, she calls a friend. She does have another guy she is better friends with, a friend from primary school.

Thing is I really really love her so much, I don't know if she likes me back. I mean, I've tried my personality but we're just better friends ever since I dropped my dull, depressing personality. I used to be very fat, I used to be about 15st6lbs, at 5'11. I'm now 11st 11lbs and 6ft., and I've been losing weight because I think that may be in the way. I've tried everything about my appearance, and I'm thinking of asking her out soon.

I'm just wanting to know, how can I get closer to her?

(PS. I opened a door of my sisters car on tuesday to get out, and a taxi took it off. Embarrassing and sad? Especially when this girl was sitting with me in the back.)

If you want a straight answer you're just best talking to her and telling her how you feel, but in doing so it could affect your friendship and make things become awkward.
The whole thing about changing your personality and appearance is a big no I personally think. Ok so you may want to lose weight for your sake, and it may give you confidence but changing you personality too just isn't right. If she doesn't like you for who you are then she's not going to like you for who you're not.
Getting close to her could just mean texting her/phoning her, or you could start asking her to go out after school and weekends. They're the only things really.
You've just gotta decide whether you want to risk you're friendship for something more or just be happy that you have her as a close friend and keep it that way.

I changed personality 2 years ago, and I chose to do it not just for her but for everyone else, I was bullied for being 'the emo kid' anyway.

And yeah, we already phone and text so often, and we go out to town every other week, or sometimes like during the hoidays once a week (hence tuesday's car accident with me breaking my sisters car.)

It sounds like your in there pretty much tbh.

I hope so. It's just that she's equally friendly with this other guy and I don't know, maybe she just acts like this with all her friends? Although to be fair she spent £30 texting me over 2 days without realising it (150 texts a day :O)

But anyway. You should just tell her how you feel, maybe flirt a little with her? And just tell her how you feel, worst that will happen is she says "but i only like you as a friend" and you are still happy as larry afterwards :)

If your on Orange, change to the dolphin package, over 300 free texts a month if you top up by £10, and 600 for £20 and so on.
Ask her out in a romantic way

yeah, she doesn't normally text me that much, and I have free texts so I was feeling a bit guilty.

I hope she'll say yes, because at the moment I think I'll ask her out we're in London, and she's going back to mine afterwards -- It'd be pretty awkward if she said no.

What should I say if it's a no?

Apparently I'm not bad looking, I dunno. I have a few spots, like I said I'm nearly normal weight, and things like that. Ermm, all the people at school say we have this 'chemistry' between us, but I dunno.

Her parents don't like me at all, they think I'm plotting something or whatever.

Get in there slowly, never rush anything or you could blow the friendship itself.

Just flirt with her until she gets it, if she flirts back she likes you, if she backs off she doesn't.

Get someone, to "accidentally" link her to this thread, thus her knowing how you feelin, thenn you can talk it off :D

Get a friend to let her know how you feel then deny it if neccessary :P

Ok, I'm not being rude but I doubt you love her and I wouldn't get yourself thinking thats true because you might push her away - a good friend - by being overeager.
Just play the field and see how to reacts around you for the next few days. I'm sure you're intelligent and you will read the signs :)

OHHHHHHHH i get it now.

haha, I'm not in primary school, I'm in year 11 and I'm 16.

I really do love her, it's not just a 'fancy' or 'crush' I honestly want to be there for her.

I care a lot about her, she has cystic fibrosis so whenever she gets ill I always phone and see how she is and I worry a lot, I spend time with her and I just want to be with her.
