Wipe the slate clean

Hey,

We all make mistakes on here, say things that we didn't really mean, lose our temper or even do some bad things by accident. Some of us will of been infracted or warned for what we have done. But even when we have learnt from our mistakes we still have marked accounts, when they have expired we and every MOD/Admin can still see them. They can feel like burdens, trying to get any form of job on here or to be taken seriously by an admin can become quite hard to do. Which is why I think the system would work better and give everyone a more fairer chance if the infraction/warning was to disappear when it expires. Anyone that hasn't learnt from their mistakes and continues to cause trouble can be punished again for whatever they have just done.

They don't hinder you that much. I was an AGM and I had infractions. They have no need to wipe the slate clean. If you've broken the rules before it's essential they can still see that to see if you continue to break the rules then you'll be banned etc. Sure some infractions and warnings you may regret but you still broke the rules. Just because one day you wake up and think "urgh why did i do that" doesn't mean they should just wipe the whole slate clean.

Well I am not sure if it could happen technically but its not a bad idea whether it is practical for feasable I am not sure. Obviously this is just my personal opinion but if somebody has not broken any rules after say 12 months then maybe to delete expired infractions etc is something that could bring a positive result to the person and to the forum as a whole as they have something to work towards.

Fair point.

Surely everyone that uses this forum has heard of runescape? It's a very big game, always around 100,000+ people playing 24/7. They have just enforced a new punishment system where they wipe the slate clean after the black marks have expired. If it's good enough for such a massive site then why isn't it good enough for Hxf? ;)

Runescape isn't HxF. I do think they should be wiped every now and again. I'm not sure how regular. I did make a thread like this ages ago saying that they should be deleted. Maybe like Rosie said they could be deleted after every year.

I got hired with dj-cookeh as a dj again last year and I had 4 infractions that were still active. It doesn't effect you getting a job. The only thing that stops you getting a job on here is: the do not hire list, biast managers and simply not being good enough.

They were last wiped last June (I got a warning like the same day and it's still there :(), maybe make it yearly? :eusa_ange I hate all the pages I've got because it looks more than I actually have/had, I've got a few warnings and infractions that were reversed but I reckon that'd be overlooked by mods because it would just be one persons opinion on whether it should have been reversed and another persons opinion on whether it should have been issued in the first place, meaning that if someone thinks you should have had it then it would look like you probably did deserve it if you understand what I'm saying, I'd rather these ones got removed :)

Yeah. I really think reversed ones should be wiped straight away. They were done by accident so I shouldn't have to see them. Makes me look like I have so many more than I do and plus they look ugly.

I've just counted and I've got 6 reversed ones, two were issued wrongly and I think the rest were reversed because they were just stupid. (Like calling someone a year 8 lol). That would bring down my pages of infractions by 1 and a half and would look *slightly* better, usually if a mod saw all these infractions they probably wouldn't look through them all and just think I broke rules all the time even though these were reversed ones. Reckon there's any chance they could be removed? :D

I have like 4 pages of infractions/warning, all expired except 2 warnings. :(

I didn't even know you could get more than one page, lmao. I have 3 warnings and 2 infractions I think.

They are kept in place for the infraction system to run, for example should you deserve a warning or another infraction. For time to time they are cleared and people are given a fresh start but i still believe in the saying that if you don't want them don't beak the rules.

I though the slate was wiped clean by default after a certain time period? Hereing its no longer the case is news to me.
Seems to make sence to wipe the slate clean, as even if a member did things against the rules at one point, if they havent broken anyrules since for a say 3/4 or even 12 month period as suggested, it can generally be assumed they arnt likely to break them again in the near future :)

I don't think there should be a 'fresh start' anytime soon because if you don't receive any warnings/infractions over a period of time then it shows that you've made an improvement. I've been permed on a previous account and had numerous warnings/infractions in the past yet I became a moderator because I showed improvement in relation to not breaking the rules and not receiving any warnings/infractions for a long period of time. That's all you gotta do really, don't break the rules and when it comes to applying for jobs they'll see that your no longer a rule breaker and may consider you.

If like you say, having stuff against your name wont count against you if you've showed a turn for the better, then i really cant see any harm in keeping the backlog :)

Infractions don't mean anything for me, BH hates me anyway :L

It os annoying though, since when my warnings expire I have them there for ages, which is a pain.

What's it got to do with Bomb-Head? Honestly, no matter who gives you them you're not going to like it. If infractions mean nothing stop complaining, I've got 4 active from Garion and well... I got over it. Bomb-Head has a lot to deal with so give him time.

As Jake said 'I still got admin with my infractions' - so I was saying it wouldn't matter to me if I had infractions or not :P

And btw one week is plenty of time imo xD

Like everything I get seems to be from ,Jess,. It isn't her personally thinking "im out 2 get immenseman" she is just her doing her job. You need to stop thinking you're the victim Dom. Although my discipline record isn't THAT bad, I'd never be allowed to return to Habbox as staff under the current regime anyway :lol: which is fair enough.

It's the same with me. If you'd read my edit I said regardless of my disciplinary record I doubt i'd be allowed to become staff again. I just mess about too much and my idea of fun isn't seen as "appropriate" but I can see why, haha.

I've read numerous times that you may still be considered even if you do have a few infractions, but I can still only believe that 70%. I just think that if there's me with no infractions but loooooads of expired fractions and there's someone with no active or expired infractions, they would get the job. And I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that, it makes sense. If someone was to say that I could get the job if I have improved then how would they know that I have improved, personal opinion or written evidence?

The 1 infraction I ever had was for a rule I didm't know existed (It was for not giving a valid reason to -rep in the days when there were strict rules on giving out rep, yet you were allowed to buy as much as you liked :P). The infraction expired and then a few days later they announced all reversed and expired infractions were being deleted. Never broke the rules again (Technically I didn't know i was breaking them in the first place).

I do think that maybe at the start of the year they should clear out all expired or reversed infractions.

Yerr i think a early thing or something, especially for warnings atleast but yeah they doo look ugly :P
