Parked his car in front of a train. Never got over the death of his daughter two years ago. Was going to be Germany's number one aswell.
Always remember playing hangman in school and my friend would chip up with his name and I'd never be able to guess the "k"
This happened yesterday diddnt it?
Nah, today.
i heard it was suicide?
Horrible that, poor man.
Awful way to go about it :(.

On 10 November 2009 he died in a train accident in Neustadt am Rübenberge. German website Morgenpost Online have quoted a spokesperson from the Hannover police as saying: 'Enke has thrown himself under a train at Neustadt am Rübenberge.' The death is, however, unconfirmed as a suicide.
Imagine how his wife feels now :/, lost there daughter now him. Why oh why did he do it.
Surprisingly I'm the first one to say this,
RIP. A great goalkeeper and a great man.
I know, and reading his Wiki page he sounded like a great guy and they sounded like a nice couple.
RIP, very sad news.
Just read about this. RIP.
Just read somewhere he had a infection which ***** with you brain.
Hannover have taken down their website as a mark of respect.

so tragic feel sorry for the wife most.Quote:
Television channel ARD reports that the site of Enke's death was a mere 200 metres from the grave of his daughter.
R.I.P
Incredibly selfish to use a train to kill yourself and ruin everyone else's day.
Not trying to be disrespectful, but i've never heard of this guy :S
Unless you watch alot of football you wouldn't really know him.
As said above the guy had mental problems and was depressed after his child died before and didn't know what he was doing. I hate it when people post comments like yours Misawa and you don't know what your talking about. Especially in a RIP thread, I find it very disrespectful and yes I know it's only a thread but still matters. -Rep.
Don't lecture me about death, your perspective means nothing - talk to me when you've had to photograph a dozen train suicides. You don't understand. I understand all too well.
I was going to say the same thing when I first heard he parked his car on the track as that could endanger many other people but if it was just himself he threw under the train, it's still extremely sad and it may inconvenience the passengers, but at least I don't think it would put them in danger.
RIP. He was a great goalkeeper. The best I remember seeing of him was on FIFA Street 2 as he was my goalkeeper at some point in the game.
Tragic death and very disrespectful to those who have made a joke out of this incident. I give my full respect to his family and team mates.
Who's made a joke about it?
As sad as it is, i just don't understand why hewould commit suicide. RIP, great keeper, had a great life ahead as well.
The posts above weren't jokes but they were very disrespectful. Also, he commited suicide as he had brain problems apparently and that along with the death of his daughter a few years ago I think pushed him into depression and led to his suicide, which is why I think the post by Misawa is disrespectful as he showed he knows nothing about the situation although he may know a lot about train suicides. The other comment just wasn't needed.
I worked as a forensic photographer. I've been to about 25 suicides. About 10 of those were via a train, and if you knew what the scene looked like, you'd change your mind. I don't care what anyone says, because I can pretty much guarantee that I am the only one here who has had to deal with it.
R.I.P Lets not argue. Lets show respect to him.
Agreed r.i.p
Same, hope his wife is OK too.
