You should start off by altering your diet. Don't eat ad much sugars / junk food and then start walking / jogging. For instance walk maybe 1.5 minutes and then jog for 30 seconds if you are unfit and then walk and repeat
Don't eat anything at all unless it's necessary. No joke, I used to be huge then I did that and I started getting all kinds of compliments like "Ash, you're so skinny", "OMG ASH YOUR RIBS STICK OUT". Made me feel good. You can't see my ribs anymore so I guess I don't have a problem anymore.
Cut back to one meal a day and if your parents ask you to eat tell them you already ate, worked every time for me!
That is bad advice. Sure it might help but it is deffinetly not the healthy way of doin it!
Don't skip meals, just make sure that the meals you do eat are healthy and that the portions aren't too big. Don't snack inbetween meals either and as shane said don't eat as much junk food. You'll need to build up the amount of exercise you're doing slowly so to start with just try jogging/walking round the block.
A lot of times people mistake thirst for hunger, so every time you think you're starting to get hungry, go drink some water. Sometimes it turns out you weren't hungry after all, or at the very least it'll fill you up a little bit so that you won't eat quite as much at meals. Definitely cut down on any snacking between meals like others have mentioned, never eat late at night, especially before going to bed, and eat healthier foods. You could try going vegetarian for a little while - that would definitely result in you eating more healthy greens and veggies. Also, try adding in a light exercise regime that can get tougher as you go on. Cardio is probably best - like OMG-SHANE mentioned, try to add in some jogging/running. It will help you slim down and burn some calories - don't overexert yourself from the beginning though, start off running for a length of time that is long enough to tax you a bit, then start running for longer and longer amounts of time as you get more in shape.
Good luck! There's also a lot of other threads in this subforum that people have made asking for help on weight loss, so you might want to search through it - you may find some useful advice already posted up there :)

Most people are like EAT LESS erm how about no?
Yes change what you eat and then change what you do i so like have salad or something healthy and then go to the gym or for a walk/run/cycle instead of slobbing around all the time.
that's what i did also if you can go to barbados i lost so much weight there because it's too hot to eat and you sweat it out lolz
Silly question in all honesty.
Exercise
Healthy Diet
=
No fail.
consume less than maintenence
Please don't do this, it's extreme and for that reason it's not good for you. If you starve yourself or skip meals consistently your body will start to store up the fat even more when you next eat. It's seriously unhealthy. Plus if you skip meals it just makes you more hungry.
The healthiest thing to do is eat your meals as you should, eat smaller portions and healthy foods with treats in moderation. Plus do some exercise, just go for a long walk if you don't want to run, or join a gym its honestly the best way to go about it.
That's not what you were agreeing with. You were agreeing with a person who said to only eat 1 meal a day, which is unhealthy. Obviously its good to cut out snacks and pointless eating but otherwise never skip meals on purpose or to decieve your parents. Plus being able to see your ribs is not a good thing.
yes because i was able to get by on one meal a day and lots of water to fill me up, whilst the first line of his post was indeed 'Don't eat anything at all unless it's necessary'. and yes in some circumstances but i enjoy being skinner, when i was fat i got a lot of abuse and stick for it, i tried anything i could to stop it.
but op, yeah maybe don't take my advice.
Don't starve yourself seriously.
Just eat a healthy diet and exercise is the best way and cut down on fatty junk food!
My PE teacher (Weirdly) told me to just drink loads of water instead... most people don't get enough fluids anyway. Also to get between meals without snacking just breathe in a lung full of air then tense your stomach muscles hold that at least 12-15 seconds and it apparently makes hunger go away...
3 meals a day, don't go above your caloric maintenance-500 and you will lose weight as fast, more consistently and in a healthier way compared to idiots eating 1 meal a day. Why put unnecessary strain on the system.
A mix of healthy food, two of my favourites for weight-loss are Lettuce and Prawns, and PLENTY of water, and chewing gum and a 20-minute walk each day contributed to my reduction.
December 2008: 96kg
March 2009: 80kg;
August 2009: 73kg;
December 2009: 68kg.
It still works and it's moderately healthy. Chewing gum has proved to cause weight loss.
I like being really skinny for beach season. I also work out on the exercise bike a lot so I have nice toned legs.. If you start not eating the beginning will be rough by eventually you will manage your hunger and you will learn that when there is no food in your stomach, your stomach is eating fat and thats a good thing. I don't see myself as being skinny at all, I never did but apparently I'm like a stick according to some people. In my opinion I have a nice ass and nice legs but I wish I was skinny from birth. Like lean and slender.. I am built big and that bothers me because no amount of plastic surgery can change that.. OH WELL better than looking like a guido..
Oh, don't start trowing up, that's for girls and it will rot your teeth.
I'd rather be skinny than fat (and I'm not fat either incase you thought that was my reasoning) but I do think that people who are really horribly stick thin look just as bad as hubba bubbas. Why not try getting some muscle, and losing fat) instead of starving yourself and becoming a stick.
cause being big and muscley would still make me feel as if i were fat
