Reading v Liverpool
I want to be confident, but who knows what sort of team Rafa will put out and even if it's our strongest who knows what performance we'll get. Very unpredictable right now, I just hope we win, don't really want to be out of the FA Cup too.
Reading are **** and if you lose to them Rafa has to go.
We got Swansea City at Home
Leicester City vs Swansea City
we have scum away, typical!
we have blackburn at home
1 winning 5 drawing.
plymouth gna knock newcastle out :D
3 winning 3 drawing.
Gutted for York at the moment v Stoke, go ahead to be behind 2-1, 3 minutes later. Delap and those long throws doing for them twice :( Hopefully they can overturn that but Stoke are good at home. Waiting to see the Liverpool team for today with bated breath, if Voronin plays I despair.
people forget how boring mourinhos football was
at least with liverpool, united and arsenal the football is usually pretty good. mourinho will probably get one of those jobs but meh his football with chelsea was crap. sure he got results and was successful but meh.
I'd happily have Mourinho but honestly I can't see it happening if Rafa was to go, I don't know why he would want to when we don't have money to spend like MU.
Just seen the Liverpool team and it's pretty much a first team, thankfully. Little bit scared of Torres playing though, don't want him injured for Spurs next week :(
Liverpool: Reina, Darby, Carragher, Skrtel, Insua, Kuyt, Gerrard, Lucas, Aurelio, Ngog, Torres. Subs: Cavalieri, Aquilani, Benayoun, Kyrgiakos, Babel, Spearing, Degen.
well rafa did say it's ya best chance of silverware so won't be taking it lightly.
how is that typical, it's a random cup draw. The only thing typical about it is that you're going to loose again to any half decent opposition you come up against.
The only english club Mourinho will manage in England is United he has said this time and time again :)
I think Alex will go when he wins the PL again or maybe at the end of this season if he doesn't because he may accept it's time to move on i think he'd rather go out on high as a hero then as the manager who over stayed his welcome.
big lulz.
would like to see reading win this, on top so far and 1-0 up
Tranmere away tomorrow.
6.15pm kick off .
Reading 1 - 1 Liverpool at least we didn't lose for once lol
Reading dominated, Liverpool only really had one spell of pressure, it seemed like most of the game was in the Liverpool half.
I think both sides would be happy with the draw though. It looked like Liverpool wanted the draw in the last 10 minutes really and Reading would've taken a draw before the game started :P but yeah Liverpool should win at Anfield.
It is typical because if you bothered to look at the facts instead of talk complete nonsense you'd realise that MU seem to always be drawn against lower league teams until the later stages of the FA/Carling cup.
"you're going to lose again to any half decent opposition"... Pardon? Again? we've lost twice all season, once was to Liverpool (who we had a goal disallowed against) and the other was to Millwall. Think you've lost more times than that and it wasn't even the 'decent opposition' you're preaching about. Burnley? Fulham? oh dear.
You appear to be forgetting that Leeds are two leagues below MU, we have less experienced and talented players and less money to spend, how you can honestly compare the sides like that is completely and utterly unjust. Also we're actually dominating the league we're in, and we're doing well. The decent opposition in OUR league have been beaten by us and that's why we're set for promotion, and you can only fairly compare us to the better teams in the league we're in, at least for the moment anyway.
I hope you're joking, you genuinely believe that the FA Cup draw is fixed? I've heard it all now.
I was waiting for her to reply and was going to tell her unless I'm mistaken that United have been draw against a top 6 maybe even soon to be a top 4 side twice in the last three seasons in the first round they enter. I'm pretty sure they had Villa this time last year and Villa the time before. SO RIGGED!!11
Absolutely brilliant performance today, made me very proud to be a Carlisle fan. 6000 of us singing our hearts out for 90 minutes while the Everton fans didn't seem to utter a word in song :$ We played very well and the 3-1 result definitely flattered Everton - we made one mistake that gave them a goal, a goal that came from what should have been a free kick to us as well as a penalty so I think we made a good account of ourselves overall. Ref bottled sending Fellaini off as well, the general consensus was that he ruined the game for us :( a lot of us thought one challenge in the second half could have easily been a straight red yet no foul was given :S
Aside from the result, it was a great day out and I'd say that all 6000 of us can be very pleased with the performance and the team spirit that we carried with us.
I'm sorry, I might need to reread my post, because I don't remember writing that? Oh wait, I didn't! I suggest you comment on what you read not on your own daft assumptions, immenseman. ;l
Generally MU get easy games, not saying it's fixed at all, i'm just saying they're lucky most of the time when it comes to the FA/Carling cup.
Which is why as I've already explained they've played a top 6 side in their first round (third round) two years in a row, lol. Then Spurs another top 6 side in the 4th round. Also, like Adam had to tell you earlier - luck does not exist.
Yeah those are a few instances, I didn't say they had lower league teams ALL of the time, again you're not reading what i've said and you're coming to your own conclusions. But there have been numerous occasions where MU have been drawn at home against lower league opposition.
Luck does exist, some teams are quite lucky, if they're playing rubbish and then score near the end of the game to snatch the 3 points it's seen as lucky.
I'm going on numerous years. They had Southampton in the 3rd round, they are a big club at the same time Chelsea had Southend. They have Leeds this time around which again are a big club. You can't say it without proof, sure they have some small teams but no more than the other big clubs. You're allowing your dislike for a certain club to disillusion your sense of reality whereas I am being totally unbiased and providing you with evidence and therefore proof that they're not drawn against smaller sides more than anybody else.
I am going to have to agree with Leaahh here, MU do always seem to end up with what is considered to be an 'easier' route in the early stages, and not just in the FA Cup, and i'm not just talking about the teams they get. Often they are at home which is also considered to be an advantage. I aren't saying it's fixed, it's just that MU appear to have an easy route through to the quarters/semis of most competitions.
As for Liverpool, another nervous game. I'm glad we didn't lose but honestly we have to play better.. it's getting stupid. I can't personally see how getting rid of Rafa would help this, he's chosen a team to win, he's sent Torres out with a strike partner (like pundits have all said he should do) and yet the performance is still lacklustre.
*i'm just going to post without actually looking at the draws from previous years*+*
It doesn't matter if they're a big club, they're still a lower league club which was my original point. Why are you bringing chelsea into this? we're talking about Manchester united, not chelsea. You accuse me of "allowing my dislike for a certain club to disillusion my sense of reality" when you're doing the same by bringing chelsea into the matter.
You've given me two occasions when you were drawn against teams in the same league as you, thats not enough evidence to disprove my point at all. I'm sure Barnsley in the first draw for this years Carling cup was also a hard game
