Meaning the analouge frequencies will be opened up for use, they were proposing public internet services through it earlier last year I do believe.
That'd be pretty awesome but I don't think it'd happen tbh, browsing porn on taxpayers money doesn't sound like the sort of thing the government would want :P

North East have it til' 2012 (last place to get it turned off), so for a temporary fix to begin with, 2 years should be long enough before getting a TV.
You should be able to do what you intend to.
I wonder, could you plug in ANY HDMI device (Blu-Ray player, for example) to a PC with an HDMI port? Would it work? (I somehow doubt it would, but you never know...)
