Most countries allow dual citizenship anyway but I'm not sure really, I'd need some serious thought

I don't think I would. Home is where the heart is, after all! I'd miss home even more knowing it would be very difficult to return there.
I Agree With Garion, But it also depends on where my home town was.

This. Unless I'm missing something, I don't see why you would decline a better life elsewhere just to be able to say 'I'm English'. Who says you can't still call yourself English? I sometimes say I'm Irish even though there's no record of it anywhere other than I have Irish parents. Besides most countries probably think we're ***** anyway so it wouldn't be a big deal not to be recognised as English :PQuote:

It depends really, i'm proud of my country of what its done in the past and i'm still proud of most of the people in this country and their beliefs. I think its hard to say until you are in a situation where you want to move but i'm pretty sure the United Kingdom allows dual-citzenship anyway?

afaik you can renounce your british citizenship and get it back so i shouldn't see a problem with renouncing british citizenship. also, japan, are you sure you have to choose one or the other cause my cousins are dual british and jordanian and they don't have to give up either, nor does my mate who's italian and british, or my other friend who's israeli and british and another whose british-hongkong and british.
if my boyfriend suggest me to become south african then i would (hes part south african and part british) then yeah
if i had a choice then canadian all the wayyy xx

I happen to have been born on the patch of land that is Britain but it doesn't mean that I'm attached to it. I like the people here but if this other place is better then frankly I couldn't care less. Yes I'd renounce it.
A country is not just a piece of land, its land that many died for and a country also involves culture and tradition which is important.Quote:
