I think the few new updates are great, they're really pulling out all the stops. Trying to bring news to suit everybody and I think it's great to see them going from strength to strength! Great changes Grig and Martin

Yes they competitions, radio and events seem to be doing a great job! A very good team all in all. :D
Thanks Ben and Rosie! :D
It's lovely to see people are already commenting on the articles too, it makes me so happy! :D
So far we have a very detailed guide on the Windows Phone 7 Series, Some juicy entertainment and tech news, and an album review, which seems to have sparked discussion! :D
Thanks to everyone who may have commented, and we hope that we can provide articles for everyone to enjoy. We aim to keep the Habwrecked section up to date too. :)
Yeh what he said. It's good to see news restoring itself slowly, but surely. We now have one of the biggest and strongest team of staff ever, and still got lots planned :).
dont really see need in it tbh; it'll be a replica of bbc/sky news now lol
Hmm, you could say that. Although if they are getting people to voice their opinions/comment then surely that's good?
At the end of the day, news stories are reported on multiple media forms around the internet, however the difference is that they can be made unique.
We personalise our articles with our own opinion, and our own outlook on the news, which is not always how other sites may represent it.
The entertainment stuff won't be an exact clone of other sites, since it contains popular things which people may like to read. We had an album review which seemed to go down pretty well, and which people left comments for almost straight away.
Whilst I can understand your point, we felt it was better to at least try and offer something different whilst we have such a strong team. Most of the threads on this forum will be on other forums, yet people still comment upon them. The fact is that we are trying something different for once, and will aim to put our own stamp on it.
Of course we are not detracting away from the Habbo news, as that's essentially still the most important part of us, however I don't see how it can hurt to let our reporters have a go at a different style of reporting.
Also, the habwrecked stuff may not be to everyones taste, but you never know there may be someone out there who appreciates it, and there really is no harm in it I don't think.
Adding onto Martin's point:
We are not trying to be neutral or impartial, as most journalists are, we are trying to demonstrate a more opinionated style of journalism, which many in the traditional media try to avoid. Obviously we're not trying to copy BBC and Sky News, we're trying to give an insight from the Youth of today rather than having a fully-fledged adult giving us the news, why not see the opinions from the youth?
do sky news bring you updates such as jls duetting with rihanna? does sky news give you all the juicy celeb gossip such as ke$ha ripping britney spears? i don't think so! the entertainment news is going to be a lot different to sky news, they don't do entertainment news like we do.
Juicy as in crap? lol
http://showbiz.sky.com/jls-rihanna-to-duet
So evidently, yes.
LOL Ains I think thats when you say you got 'owned'
The news and updates at the top are really good, they're not in your face or trying to drag away your attention :)
your posting non stop new stories and not given people time to read/comment lol
Wait a second? That's from december... REALITY CHECK HERE PER-LEASE. We're now in March my good friend, if you had bothered to read the article, it is about JLS duetting with Rihanna and Beyonce and Kayne West. Nothing to do with X Factor. Seriously. Make sure you research PROPERLY.
he just been owned back.
I, like 99% of habboxforum do not read the news so i looked up what you had said.
Let's add metro to that list

I have a problem with that report about Rihanna and JLS anyway.
And you can't say mine and Elle's section is completely crap - as we are giving a completely different angle to the stories that are in the News, we can have opinions we can be biased. So we're not going to give you complete dribble that traditional media gives you. BBC is controlled by the Government, and most news outlets are controlled by money - we are controlled by passion.
Like you said, the vast majority of this forum don't read our news, but for the people who do and for the people who may stumble upon the main site, I don't see how this new feature can be a negative one. There are parts of the site which are used far less, and providing we are getting comments, and offering something different for our readers then I'm happy.
Yes, a couple of the articles have been in similar context to other News sites, but as a News department with a large team, I feel it's nice for our reporters to get the chance to try out new things and develop new writing styles over time.
As Jordan has said, our News articles generally have our own opinions in, our own outlook on the news, and hopefully will be a nice mix of not only topical entertainment news in one place, but also some really informative and detailed tech news.
I for one don't go on news sites such as the ones listed above, I do however go on Habbox and to have something slightly different for the Habbox site users who may stumble upon the articles then I can't see it being a negative thing.
As I've always maintained, Habbo News will obviously be our main targetted audience, due to this being a Habbo based fansite, and that's our main concern. We do get large amounts of comments on some articles, and the Habbo side of things seems to be going well. We just thought we would try something new, and widen our reach a bit.
Thanks for all your feedback.
We are never subjective in writing news, as that is not what we try to present to the public. The real life technology and entertainment sections is very strong as we have put 3 very strong reporters on it, as well the rest of our strong team pitching in.
I for one, do have a strict policy of any sort of plagiarism, so if you find anything to be copied in any part of our news site, feel free to PM either myself or Martin and we will deal with it. News has become very strong this year, for what I may say was a slumpish 2009. I myself, am not a fan of simple re-written articles and will hammer reporters hard on it.
