Anyone got any idea what happens when the hotels merge. The hotels all have different names for certain rares.
Maybe they'll just like have different names if they're from different hotels.
I've been reading the Canadian help tool about the Merge and i think i could take a good guess at this.
First quote taken:
"Your badges and achievements will stay as is. If the same badge has been issued in both Hotels with the different description, the description of your badge will stay as it's now."
Even though badge will have different descriptions and names they will stay as is, so maybe that will be for Furni too.
Second quote:
"Having said that, we know the values of some items will crash, and we're working on solutions to remedy that (in addition to marking the origin of the furni, which will be visible to everybody)"
The marking of items means that we no what country they first came from so maybe the name will also stay the same as the origin countries name.
Names change all the time, it happens when they update and stuff so i can;t see it having much of an effect. Plus it maybe better to change the names so there isn't confusion between different Habbos from different countries as to which rares they are asking/talking about.
If they do mark the furni with the origin of said country there's going to be some big scams. Say for a purple dragon which is worth loads over here and not as much over there. You could put a UK purple dragon in your shop but the when trading you could put in a CA dragon. Values are gonna be so confusing!
In addition to what got posted above by -Danube-, this is referring to the .ca/us merge but I assume the same rules will apply:
I reckon there'll be [uk] and so on in the item name. From what I read though, the items will retain the name they have now on their respective hotels in the new big hotel. Seems logical considering it specifically states that the badge texts will stay the same (furni and badge names and descriptions are stored in the same file [external texts]).Quote:

In order to see what someone's worth, you'll have to know the value of all furni in all the different hotels? Is that right? So know the value of a throne (UK) throne (AUS) throne (US) etc?. I can't get my head around it :S
I don't see why they have to move to US, have you seen it? It's like a retro, fish, globe and duck trophys are still there and icms are called 'blue ice cream makers and stuff.
A lot will leave after this i'm sure, but if name's do change and they don't specify what habbo they come from then you could have a 0.3cs icm in your hand or a super rare one it's a load of crap :D
They've already said in the USA FAQS that there will be no watermarking on names OR on furni. No adding [uk] etc to anything. To compensate rare values, they're giving a "new super" to those who lost a lot due to the merge. It says so on the new article on .com.
Names are being given to the person with the most online time.
Maybe they will keep all the names the same and the values too? It would cause quite alot of scamming though, however, they might trade the trading system so the name and value of the item is very clear instead of you having to hover over it to just find out it's name. This would reduce any scamming that could be caused. But if you think about it, they must know what they're doing with all this stuff and must have thought it all through properly, but it would have nice to kow :D
I'm kinda wondering if they would be counted as different furni. Like say you put a GBB and a jade fountain into a trade (same thing) would they take up 2 boxes or come up as 2 of the same furni? :o
If they kept the name and values different i reckon they would come up in two different boxes.
It's all so confusing! :/
Things will slowly develop new names, like they always do. It'll all start off with a lot of confusion, but eventually things will begin to be called by newer things - Probably whatever the Americans currently call them as they are, i think, the largest used hotel.
