Tory/Lib Dem Government Imminent

The BBC are saying they've got a fairly reliable source saying that Liberal Democrat/Labour talks have ended. They've also seen luggage over the past hour moved out of Downing Street into the Prime Ministers cars.

Many Labour MPs and ex-cabinet members saying it'll be best for Labour to go into opposition to best position themselves. There's also this;

Nothing definite yet but the way the Tories/Lib Dems have both been talking today, it's likely that an agreement was going to be made. Going by all the stuff above, I'm pretty sure Gordon Brown will be going to the palace very soon :)

Lets hope LibTories fails (well it will anyway) and Labour cruise to victory next time.

Yeah there's going to be some very unhappy Tories and Lib Dems no matter what the outcome. Labour will be a very strong opposition under a decent leader I imagine (If it's david miliband though it won't be :P).

I'm optimistic about the outcome of the talks but if the Liberal Democrats get too much control in a Tory government, I will most likely become a rebelling Conservative.

The bags belonged to the Darling family, not the Brown family.

Unless Electoral Reform is on the cards, we've all pretty much lost in this deal.

Prime Ministers cars has just parked around the corner from Downing Street. Is it too late in the day for Brown to go to the palace and resign and then Cameron to go to the palace and form a government?

It won't be done today I don't think. He could possibly announce it... but I think the major footwork will be done tommorow.

First Past the Post is fine for constituency voting, there needs to be another system where you can vote for what party you want in charge, its not a fair system.

I've gone off the idea, I don't think anything will formally happen today due to it being so late. There might be some announcements but tomorrows the day :)

If Nick Clegg has thrown away proportional representation then he was a complete waste of time, both for the country and his own party.

There's a rumour about Ken Clarke becoming chancellor under Cameron, this has me worried.

Aha I have the great Geoff Hoon not living far from me :P (Someone robbed his mail van when he was Minister of Defence and they chucked government boxes all over the road, long story).

Sky News has just confirmed the story isn't true about Ken Clarke, thank god. He was chancellor from 93-97.
