a few things..

1) You guys keep saying that you are preparing to go world wide fansite etc (you know, for the merge) but if you guys do add this soccer poll addon rubbish, it will mainly be used by the british people. USA is not popular with soccer, neither is Australia (for the other countries I can't comment, but i doubt canada is).. So that won't really be much use to "the rest of us" and is focusing on the UK users (again!)
i know that you say it'll last until the world cup, but if you add it after that!

2) how do we bump threads if/when we get this double post thing? Because surely it will just be added onto the previous post...

Double post will only be merged if its done within 15 minutes. I made that pretty clear when I posted it ...

i know, i was just you'know, putting it out there that it is really only going to be useful for the british people after the merge (and when the WC finishes)

And this forum will always have a majority British people. To think we are going to get 100's of members from other countries isnt realistic.

with an attitude like that ofcourse we won't. Management want to go international and having something that is aimed mainly at UK users won't help too much..

I don't understand how a World Cup related event will only be aimed at UK members. Just because Australia is rubbish at footy doesn't mean there isn't plenty of other countries that would want to get involved; Spain, Germany, Brazil etc and I wouldn't be surprised if interest grew in the USA once the tournament takes off because they haven't got a bad side. Anyway even if the thing mentioned in all those threads isn't accepted, I'd be very surprised if Habbox wasn't planning some big things in order to use the World Cup to its advantage - after all it is one of the biggest global events there is, so this Habbo merge couldn't have came at a better time as far as fansites are concerned. From what I can tell about that prediction thingy, it would influence people to come online daily to keep track of the tournament and their entries and if there was a reward at the end of it for the winners, surely that is an incentive right there. Considering we are talking about an automated program, I can't think of much else that could take place which would match it in terms of it being interactive without absolute bucket loads of manual input on the part of staff. Just my thoughts, and I don't follow the second point, sorry.

Theres a difference between being realistic and being optimistic. We will pull in lots of foreign visitors but that will be habbox.com
You have to remember, they also have their own existing fansites. Members from this forum wont suddenly join other hotels fansites after the merge will they?

I fully agree. Its fully automated. You can see who gets the most points overall and per league. Its not only British people who follow the English leagues. Its just an extra add on for sports members to enjoy.

He was talking about using the football add-on for english leagues.

It's only being used for the WC anyway.

@sarg: I said after the world cup. We (non British) won't have much need for it at all...

@danda: seeing as habbox is the biggest fansite we will deffinetly get more members.

Ofcourse we will get new members, thats for sure, but to think it will be huge numbers is just not realistic.

Well when the hotels merge there is a possibilty which should not be ruled out.

This is the attitude we do not want to be taking. The hotels are merging and this means that providing we improve our presence on Habbo Hotel there is a chance we will get more international users. Habbox World was aimed at attracting members from international hotels and that is a totally different situation to the merge situation we are facing now. If we all carried that attitude in management there would be no way Habbox would succeed and we would stand no chance after the merge.
