Merge...

Right the merge happened at 1PM. I think Habbox needs to acknowledge this on the Forum ASAP, like a little message at the top or something "Are you from US, CA, SG or AU then jump into our international competition HERE" or something. So many people have asked me on the new hotel why I have the fansite badge and rather than saying HabboForum (which is why I have it) I've been advertising Habbox. A lot of people keep saying the forum is down (before it came back up).

Anyway, I think it would be good if you quickly did something for the international users which might give them more inclination to use this forum rather than any others (UK has by far the strongest habbo forums).

lol need to get onto hotel before I can advertise (it's a maintenance break for me atm.. hmmm)

as the exact date/timing was pretty random, I'm sure it's just taking a bit of time to get things into place but they'll come (hopefully!). The idea of a giveaway seemed like the best idea to me. :D

Yeah but the longer nothing is done for it the less likely they're going to use Habbox imo.

People knew the merge was happening and it was released on the .com hotel at like 10AM. Very bad timing for the forum being down but that can't be helped.

At the moment I am writing an article on Habbox.com - almost like a guide for new users and visitors, so as to let them know what we offer and what we do. A notice will be arranged shortly when I have relevant information to put on it. This really couldn't have happened at a more inconvenient time, given that I have been in college with exams all day and we are all very busy! Nevertheless we will get cracking with events on the new merged Habbo and start working as hard as we can to ensure we attract international users.

Don't forget jake, in their time zone most of it is like what, 8am? so they've got college n stuff too!

There are lots of international users on the .com hotel, a lot of them saying it's their summer. Thing is there was a message on the .com hotel like 10/11ish confirming the merge and 5/6 hours have been wasted where nothing has been done. I know it's unfortunate just thought I'd make this thread so you get something on the go :) I know people have been on Habbox because I've had at least 10 people ask about my fansite badge and they said they might Habbox a go and a few comments said they liked the habbox.com layout and stuff.

I am currently on my way home. I'll get a notice set up for both guests and new users immediately.

As Garion said a very inconvenient time but we will be set up for AU and US peak times.

I agree with Jake on this one. The sooner all of this kind of thing gets sorted, the quicker Habbox will able to adapt into the new Habbo.com. It would be a shame to see Habbox get left behind simply because things aren't implemented quick enough.

The issue is we couldn't predict the merge and most of us have been busy with exams and revision throughout the day, or school / college. We are working towards doing things as we speak so watch this space. It is appreciated that you have been referring people to Habbox :).

Right I am home and I am going to do as much as I can within the next 50 mins - however I can only give 50 minutes for now as I have an A2 exam first thing in the morning.

I am also currently talking to Matt who I have asked for any other instructions from.

Woo, hope ya exam went well anyway Garion! Been advertising Habbox some more because they're banning people who don't have the rep badge because they're not sure which fansite is official. Obviously, they won't ban me because I have the badge even if it is from that *other* site.

They could of been more organised regarding fansites and what not. Blah! I'm now in the long activation queue. :(

To be fair this should of all been planned a while ago, it's been known for weeks the hotel is going to merge. Fair enough you were at college but you could of had banners and things written beforehand so then it's just case of releasing it. It's pretty much the biggest fansite going and you have no preparations, do you honestly just expect all the US/CA/AU/SG users to wander over to Habbox? This is the biggest opportunity you'll ever get for more for users and frankly you should be plastering Habbox all over this merged hotel ASAP but I don't really see anything happening, bare in mind you risk losing a lot of visitors if another fansite has a better radio or rare values.

None of us think that members will turn up to Habbox just like that. Most of us have been busy in real life or only just been home for so many minutes, myself and other members of General Management are in an msn chat discussing everything. There was always things planned before the merge regarding advertising/events etc etc.

I can't just get onto habbo straight away and do some magic business because activation takes too long. I know that events are already happening!

I still don't think any of you see the enormity of what's happening on Habbo and how this could be make or break for Habbox. Habbox is reliant on it's rare values and if people no longer rely on them, I've no doubt they'll be a lot less new visitors. You could of typed up announcements etc beforehand.

I think this merge will come as a much needed wake up call for Habbox.

From what I hear there's been demands for much more rare value reporters in this upcoming hotel seeing as it'll be a lot larger and the rare values system will be all over the place originally, yet you won't make an exception for them to go over their limit.

I've always wondered what's stopped them from getting moderators in India/China if I'm honest, would be much cheaper I imagine?

Nice to see some things being rolled out. There are events running almost every hour up until 9pm to get the Habbox name out there and I'm guessing HxL have some things up their sleeves too.

I do think there should have been previous advertising by possibly contacting other official fansites on other hotels but as it's been said, it was rather difficult to actually predict when it would finally happen.

They have not even reached their limit. If any department reaches their limit then they can simply contact me with their reasoning and I will either agree or disagree.

It has been planned for a long time, I am just saying things hadn't happened at the time this thread was posted because there was no one here to set the wheels in motion. The notices have been implemented, I have posted an article on Habbox.com which you can now see by heading there. The notices have been sorted. We have events running all evening, over the coming days we will be holding massive giveaways at a variety of different times so as to appeal to international users. I, for example, plan to hold events and a giveaway in the early hours of the morning (at US and AU peak times) so as to attract members from international communities.

All departments have been working hard to get people from an international background, or at least members who are able to stay on late into the night, including HxHD and events. International events applications are open. Prior to the merge Roxy had her international members of staff or members of staff on the US hotel running events and a lot of people already knew about Habbox and those that didn't were directed here.

Roxy has also arranged it so the biggest and safest casinos and trade rooms on Habbo have "Habbox.com for rare values" in their room descriptions, in return for a place on a page on Habbox.com. We intend to roll this out to the biggest trade rooms and casinos that were originally based on the AU, US and SG hotels.

Rest assured we have planned and discussed this for a long time, but given that we were not told a date for the merge, when it happened we were caught off guard. The wheels, however, are now in motion.
