Sunday, 3:00pm kick off is it?
A big big game. Germany have played exceptionally well in the group stages where as we have played... poor.
What happens Sunday? Do we turn up our game and stun the Germans? They look quite hard to beat.
The pundits over on ITV say they are beatable (as they've lost a match already)
We have the players and coach to pull it off.

This world cup is working out like WW2 - France have forfeited, the USA turned up late, and England are left to fight the Germans!
The loss to Serbia is really deciving. They had 10 men and still pressed really really well. They dominated even with 10 men really. Not to mention the ref was appauling.Quote:

As I said in the other thread, their defence isn't bad. They have two top class players, and two average players. Both average ones are on the left so we need to do something about that.Quote:

Apart from Lahm, they don't have any world class players but they have a few solid ones that are good. They are too young imo, and if it becomes a tense and high pressure game then I think they'll crumble under it. Muller, Ozil, Khedira and Badstuber are all very inexperienced.
pentalties for the loss
They've been caught out quite a few times in all of the games and are lucky to have got away with it. Everytime I've seen their GK this WC he's been caught in no-mans land and flapped a few balls.Quote:

Klose won't be out. He got 2 yellow cards which means only a 1 match ban. The problem with German teams is that they don't look very good on a team sheet and don't really have world class players. But the play as a team and have such a massive winning mentality. It will undoubtfully be a hard game.

i want as many people to vote whether England will win or lose on Sunday, because I, cannot call it.
CHA!NGANG is right, they are inexperienced, but a really good side. Are they good enough to tackle our back 5? Our two centre backs today did tremendous (Upson and Terry), they may not have had that much to do but they blocked everything in their path, so did Johnson in that matter. James proved to be good, tactically as well. He had a quiet-ish game but he did pull of some convincing and brave saves, plus he's got safe hands..

Argh, it really annoys me how people are so pessimistic about this game. I could heard people in other gardens saying **** like 'oh thats it we're out', its like atleast back your country and want to win, right?
Also, i don't even think Germany are that tough, they are way overrated, If Fabio gets it right we can easily beat them.

Germany always have a reputation of being one of the best, but with a good team, and a clear vision of winning, I think England could do it.
I'd like England to win, but if we don't then... I guess I'd be fine with it. We haven't really tried hard but this needs to be it. If we go out we need to go out fighting :)
Knowing our luck, we will play our best of the whole tournament, and will actually start to look like were capable of winning it, and we will loose to a lucky German goal/on penalties.
Hope we go through though.

yeah i think england can pull it off and make history by knocking Germany out of the last 16.
You know whats going to happen. Now that England scraped through they will now be unbeatable and go on to win the world cup.
I think Germany have a better chance of winning, but you never know when England will up their game :)
Lol, Germany only have 8 players over the age of 25 in the squad, and Bastian who is one of the most experienced players in the squad is a major doubt for the game and might be replaced with Toni Kroos who is 20.

come on england! It's more than football when it's with Germany it's national pride. I think we will pull it out now and continue to get better through the knock out stages, I don't fear germany they have nothing but confidence on their side whereas we have that and some class players also. we just have to believe that we have the talent to do it, and it would be handy if Wayne Rooney turned up :-)
I can see us limping our way to the latter stages of this tournament like France in 2006 and Greece in Euro 2004.

In a way, I'm happy we've got Germany in the Last 16. If this really is our year, and if we really are going to win the World Cup, we have to prove it in games like this.
A game against our bitter rivals is the perfect way to do that. They're definitely beatable, there's no doubt about that. For me they just don't have the same German feel to them as they have done in the past. Sure it's going to be difficult, but I think we can do it.
2-1 England. COME ON, let's ******* do this.
It'd be boring if we won it by playing easier teams ;)
