Would you make one?
Because apparently adding one to your fansite now is ripping ClubHabbo.
So yeah, if you could would you?

I would if I felt it needed it.
Nope, I recall vbulletin having this feature way before them.
Exactly, theres a thread on ClubHabbo - but since they all jump on the bandwagon on that forum, I thought it was best to ask the users on here :)
An international fansite would :)
We would and we have.
I've already coded one and it's been added to Habbox soon. If they call that ripping then I accuse them of ripping our idea of making a Habbo fansite!!
Plus, our timezone converter's better :P
haha, I love you!
You have the exact same views as me! They don't understand that every website that has competition does it.
Google used the background changer idea from Bing
MySpace took the chat from Facebook
It's not just websites, every product on the market does.
If you want to be technical you could say both Apple and Microsoft stole object oriented programming, networking, the personal computer, the mouse and a graphical user interface from Xerox too--who got squat in the end!
If they seriously think this is copying, when I could make a list as long as my arm of things similar that we had first, then they'll simply have to get over it.
Wouldn't you just love to go to court against ClubHabbo! They would make fools of themselfs.
At first it was just the users who said it was copying, but then the owner & coder both said we copied their idea LOL.
Didn't vBulletin get a timezone changer a few years back?
It's had it for awhile. It detected my timezone for me:

I think we should tell vBulletin about this!
I just realised our usersystem has had a timezone changer for months :S
But because it wasn't on the homepage, it's not valid.

PHP RIPPED IT ALSO AMG.PHP Code:<?php putenv("TZ=Etc/GMT+0"); ?>
If I owned a fansite and it was international, yes. Many websites have had the features such as the gallery, javascript/flash radio and the timezone changer so no, you didn't rip it. Many users on CHF just suck up and jump on the bandwagon as you said so just ignore them.
That shows that a lot of Habbo sites, and its owners are immature, have a lack of knowledge etc.
I'm not an actual Habbo user, and one thing I like about this forum is that its suitable for non habbo users to. I used to use it a few years back but I've grown out of it. This forum seems to be a lot more mature than many I've used.
It's like I've talked on some forums, Club Habbo I beleive about radio licenses. Someone I knew said they needed to know about them. It was funny that a lot of the apparent technical people seemed to beleive that because they where ran by teens, with no money and a non profit organisation or whatever, that they didn't need to be licensed. The chances of them getting caught might be slim, but it has happened - but they seemed to think that people under certain ages could broadcast copyrighted material without licenses and it would be classed as legal - the law is the same for everyone.
I would and the Habbox one sounds great! They can't accuse us as ripping while i am sure other fansites have it aswell.
