Just read the announcement, it's hardly rocket science..
Because a lot of members have requested it, and it makes sense to allow it to happen over a period of time. After that it won't be allowed because no one should be making duplicate accounts anyway. It's just a nice thing to do :PQuote:

Well, not really. If someone uses a second account to break rules then it's noted and they wouldn't get their account merged however a lot of people have used different accounts in the past and come back on new ones.Quote:
