Facebook gets its 500 millionth user

I'm not sure if its been posted but facebook has gained its 500 millionth member today! woo

The site, which launched in 2004, has gained around 100 million new users in the last six months alone. Facebook said the number was "an important milestone" and added that it was "humbled and inspired" by the stories of its users.
But as the popularity of the site grows, so do concerns about privacy and online child safety - in particular bullying.

i'm sure most people have more than one account lol

still, deduct all of those and it will still be a pretty large number of unique members!

omfg lol i didn't know that kinda stuff even happened lol i was thinking more if they got hacked or forgot their password :S i do admit i used to play farmville though lol but then it became somewhat of a rutine so i quit lol

It's also thought that around half the population of the UK have a Facebook account. It's rather difficult to give a statistic like that when many people have made a second account too though.

Yeah Farmville.. I keep getting in to it then leaving it for weeks. I can't work out whether it's worth my time these days - I have so much stuff on it and it's hard to organise it all :(

Oh god if Facebook was a sponsor.. it's getting right up there with McDonalds and Coca-Cola!
