Medicine? That makes it sound like old age is an illness that needs to be cured (and no I am not saying the scientist is ageist). Why do we need to live to 120? Why do we need to avoid death, a natural occurence that's going to happen anyway :(

The real way to prevent a population crisis is to allow the poorer countries to develop faster as it is a well known demographic fact that the more developed a country is, the slower its population will increase (or even fall as is predicted with the PROC & Japan). I think this is a good move, I would like to live for longer/as long as possible provided my life was worth living at such a ripe old age. I did learn though not that long ago that apparently us humans could only live to a maximum age of something around 300 years to 500 years as our brains eventually reach a point where they cannot grow/regenerate/hold anymore information. So 120 is the target now, but getting past 300/500 will be a challenge. :P

The logic all seems right for this to be quite promising. If I was 100 years old, I'd love another 20 years of free heating from the government. Just sayin'
As it stands right now I don't think about trying to come up with a way for just myself to live forever. I'm more worried about my parents. I really don't want to see them grow old and pass on, but of course that's something inevitable that we're all undoubtably experiencing.
