Experience?

Here's the thing. Management fought for ages about Shar's promotion because she was more experienced as a manager. We all know it, you can see the thread. How then, are we going to promote a person who was HxHD super staff for 17 days over two people that have been super staff much longer than that? No disrespect to Jordan at all, but this is quite frankly an insult. An insult to super staff.

How are you going to say that a person that is super staff for only 17 days has more experience than anyone else? Someone please show me the logic in the decision that has been made. You all seemed so adamant in the decision that Shar was promoted because she had more experience. Now you're going to do this?

LOLwat jordan has asst??? I remember when i was amazed when he got SS when he literally just passed his trial.

It seems to be the way now, no matter how long you have been dedicated they will always choose the people who don't have an opinion so its less to deal with. Well this seems the case.

I swear Jordan just got SS a few weeks ago :S But anyways you're saying that someone that was in the position for a few weeks is ready to run a department? If you're promoting people to senior that fast why not promote all the new people in all the departments to senior. Is Jake is right and he got SS just after he passed his trial wheres the logic in that? The senior staff of the department are supposed to understand what they are doing and have a while in that role before being promoted to senior. I was in the position of HxL DJ for like 7 months and then I was promoted to senior after 7 months. Being a HxHD staff for just over a month if this is all right is hardly enough time to know the department enough to manage it. Welldone on getting the position Jord, it's just a little odd.

Habbox is going through a difficult time. There are going to be unconventional decisions made that are in the best interests of the department. I say we roll with it in the interests of a better Habbox.

some decisions being made are causing dedicated staff to leave. this is bad. this needs fixing. there is ranks for a reason no to be given freely.

I'm sure this decision, as with many others, wasn't made flippantly. I'm sure there are a few staff leaving and you extrapolate this to many staff leaving. In my opinion, if staff are throwing their toys out the pram because of one decision, it shows that their priority is not the success of the department but their own stature.

I agree that ranks should not be made to be given away, I was a big fan of that myself, but I also think that there are times when unconventional decisions need to be made, and if the staff can't recognize that and suck it up for a short time in the interest of the greater good, then its their loss.

Of course, that's just my opinion :)

Jordesh has dedication and he's willing to learn. Shar should have stayed because I don't think any of the super staff should get a leadership position. (ChickenFaces because she's international and two international managers wouldn't be too good. Habbox is in a time of need (no joke) and they are wanting to make the best of the staff they have at the moment for the future, not just a quick fix.

Jordan is very giften when it comes to Help Desks. He was the Manager on Mr-Trainor's site, so Cutie (Lindsey) he does have quite a bit of experience behind him. He was a good manager. However, I do agree that there were more super staff that were suited for the role. Heck I think if Mathew had fought it out, and didn't resign I feel he could have been promoted to assistant if you're on about time and dedication.
I agree, Marky, etc, could have been selected for the role. And if I am honest, I literally swore on msn to Jord, as it was such a shock when I saw the announcement. I told him I was sorry, but they do have someone with a bit of dedication behind them.

Although that could happen I suppose in this situation it isn't the case at all. In HxHD (or since I've been the manager at least) whenever we've required an Assistant Manager I've told general management a selection of the staff members who are able to assume the position and then we have a discussion about it. As I think someone mentioned above general management do have the final say however I won't spectate as to whether or not that played a role in this decision.

The choice came down to either Shannon or Jordan and it was not a quick or easy decision for anyone involved. Shannon would have made an excellent manager of the department and it would have been a pleasure working with her in all aspects of the job. She is an asset to this team and one of our most active staff members. When either Jordan or myself resign she will most undoubtably have her shot at managing the department and I hope she sticks around to have her chance to.

It's not about the experience, it's about the ability to be able to run a department. SS should be backing him up, not ripping him down

There is an awful lot to consider when choosing someone to fill a managerial role, the comparison you make between this situation and Shar and how "we" (although I wasn't here) said that Shar was promoted to Assistant Manager for her experience that would be managerial experience and not experience within the help desk.

As far as I'm aware this has, and always will be the case at Habbox - the person who ticks all the boxes (or the most boxes) will get the job (this was certainly the situation with Jordesh), that's not at all saying that others don't deserve it, haven't worked for it and most importantly it's not saying that they won't ever get a shot.

Management decisions aren't made in 5 seconds, it takes hours, sometimes days. I'm sure Dave and the general management involved would have discussed it thoroughly and it was Jord who was promoted. That's not saying that the other staff are 'unworthy' at all. Personally, I think if staff are feeling disgruntled that they haven't been promoted, then maybe they're not in the department for the right reasons.

You don't really have an strong argument, because either way the more you moan it isn't going to make management remove jordan as assistant. Just sit back, work harder and you'll get offered the job next time round.

All outcomes at the end of the day will cause some kind of uproar or stir. Overall, it is a management decision and they have picked the best person for the job, in the best interest of HxHD after recent occurrences. It's a shame for the other super staff - yes, but as Josh pointed out, 2 international managers in a department full of gmt/bst staff wouldn't be convenient. Whoever got the job would have done a good job, I'm pretty sure, and I wish Jordan and all the new fresh faces of management the best of luck.

I would have picked Shannon as she is a great girl deserving of a chance, and doesn't have the temper of a string.

I would have done this or offered it to an ex-manager who I know was decent in the past like Scott, Hayley, Ben and so forth. I'd like to actually see if this raises the stats at the HxHD or if it's just another waste of a position, because at the end of the day no one can judge until the actual statistics are out in terms of room popularity, activity etc.

Out with the old, in with the new. In other words give him a chance.

Quite alot of unconventional decisions have been made recently which have been the worst decisions made by Management ;) I'm not entirely sure why you're calling it unconventional, as that just seems to be a cover up method. I can't blame some of these staff members for complaining that an unexperienced member of their team has been promoted when they've not been a dedicated/major member of the team, so it's justified really. If he has the experience/dedication, then good for him, but obviously something is wrong if there are some problems regarding it. Surely the team should of been notified of the reason he was chucked up the ranks so quickly? It's no wonder morale seems so low lately, when people are being kept out in the dark. As mentioned in many previous threads, communication is non-existent :/

Yes Shannon, I always see you in the HxHD, and sure you would have been a great assistant manager, so would others, but anyway, I feel Shar is right when saying there will always be some problem to a promotion.

Like others have said at the end of the day it's the (A)GM decisions, and what they say goes. Yes, it was different when Shar returned, and Shar understood that, but, you say you gain experience from working at a management level - indeed you do. But does it really matter who got the job? Really? Aren't HxHD suppose to be a close knit family to keep this fansite alive from the ever failing forum (O btw it's a lot quicker today :)). HxHD is an advertisement for Hx, and squabbling over who got Assistant and who didn't isn't the right way to go about it is it?
If you look on the official fansite list, and visit their sites, you will find half of them have up sticks and closed their doors. SURELY, this is a great gain for Habbox, people usually wish to go to official fansites, so you need to make it the best you possible can. Advertise HxHD as much as you can, show them Hx is easy, friendly and can help. Because at the moment, if you are focusing who got an Assistant management role, you clearly aren't helping are you now?

To be perfectly honest, the problem surely lies with the current staff, not with Jord.
Jord is obviously an exceptional staff member to go from trialist to management in a matter of weeks. If the other staff members can't keep up with the pace of a trialist, surely the problem is there? :)

Jord is a brilliant staff member and I know he'll do fine in the position. However, I do believe it may have been a bit quick but it's not my choice. The first time I was SS I was in the position for 6 months before I resigned, as you can see it's a massive difference between what Jord has been there for. I don't believe it was the wrong decision because Jord is the staff member I actually see the most down there, he is very dedicated which makes him a good choice. I don't think it's very fair in people saying Shannon shouldn't of became it because she is also international, if she has put in the effort then surely where she lives shouldn't make a difference?

I think any of the current SS would of done a great job though. Well done again Jord. :)

I agree with this really, bringing in new faces to management will revitalize HxHD and possible Habbox. Until we see how Jordan manages the role and what things he's going to do, there isn't much point in giving negative responses to this change!

All three of the current SS had different aspects to why they deserved it, whether it was dedication to the department, maturity or a general all round good HxHD spirit :P

It probably wasn't an easy decision but it's now made so best of luck Jordan :)

There may be other staff that would of also do a good job at being Management but you can't hire them all at the same time and if they stay long enough and still carry on their hard work and dedication then it will be noted the next time we will need to hire any new HxHD Management. At this present time, the management are David and Jordesh and I don't want a repeat of what happened to Shar where peoples comments forced her to resign. The thread is going to be closed now and I do thank you for the feedback but the decision has been made and it won't be changing. Jordesh has the chance of putting his hard work into his new role and I wish him the best of luck, you just need to give the guy chance!
