This has happened to me. But they never actually "pretended they liked me" just initially acted as if they did. However they did apologise for supposedly "leading me on."
Well, basically, I got a top up, spent like half on him, he repays me by blocking me lol.
But, i suppose i didnt mind, at least, i know it was a one off thing,

I've had it the other way round; a girl I occasionally talk to. Admitted they liked me, but up until then pretended they didn't. They are pretty good looking and have a good personallity as well - so I don't know what they are scared of. lol.
To me, when people do that I feel like they only do it for attention, and it's really stupid of them because it just hurts their relationships with people...
It's happened to me a few times in the past.

Where the phone call is conserned, it was a one off anyway, and I chose to ring him at the time, so that's why I don't feel it was a waste, as I enjoyed the phone call a lot ;)

its like my ex, i absolutely adore our friendship, and his friend asked if he could talk to me and he allowed it, and he really did like me but the next day, when we were together i apparently said 'i love you' so he didnt wanna date me, i never said 'i love you' that was the most upsetting thing about it.

i remember last week, this boy, who i kinda like, decided to ask me out, he then told me it was a joke, because he knew i had feelings for me.
i utterly dispised him, but i thought whats the point, if he likes me, he likes me, if he had a joke, and apologized i can tell hes sorry. stupid beer.
but he just wants to get to know each other before he would wanna go out, but he is certain we will go out.

Tha's exactly what I did Sharon, I waited and waited and waited, then suddenly they aren't even interested, and then purposely get a girlfriend to annoy you.

they either find an excuse to dump me,
like one time, this guy said he was moving.. ;l yeah , he wasn't.

Pretending to like you? That seems very heartless of them. Recently a girl played my brother on a bit, he made him think she liked him, when he liked her, and let him down by telling him she didn't like him. I think that's very heartless and mean. I can't really see a girl 'pretending' to like you... unless they wanted something... Maybe they're just confused how they feel, or you are confusing best friend with liking you.
Thats happened to me before, I really liked this lad and he asked me out, i said yes and we kissed and stuff then the next day he said he asked me out as a joke because his friends dared him to, it sucks when it happens to you :(

Apparently, he had just come out of a long relationship, which I was fine with because I thought I would be waiting a few weeks.
Near enough like 7 weeks later still nothing.
But I asked my ex, and he said he overheard him say that he doesn't want a relationship yet. The person didn't even have the courtesy to tell me.

Although I'm only young yes, there's this girl I know in school now and she flirts me like crazy, she just does stuff that a "friend" wouldn't do. She's my bestmate but I think she wants to go a little further :D I wouldn't mind it if we went further lol ;)
