Lower spec, cheaper and dont have a disc tray.
Theyre only if you use it for less consuming stuff like browsing the net :)
Lew.
Netbooks are good, very good. The only downside is they don't have a DVD drive, but you can pick up an external for £30 so it's not much of a hassle. If you're looking at Netbooks I advise looking at the latest Asus netbook, it has a dual-core processor.
I would rather go for a laptop, but that just me.
What would you need 2 gig in a netbook for, a gig would be fine.
Well it'd be faster? Bt I suppose I'd only be using it for social networking nd my school work and stuff?
Apart from the obvious size differences, the specs in comparison to a regular laptop are considerably lower. Netbooks are designed to be highly portable and efficient at simple tasks, which explains the spec differences.
If you're getting a new computer for school, explain to your parents that a netbook isn't designed for school use. Although it's more than possible to actually do schoolwork on them, it's just not the same as a laptop.
[/rant] (I apologize if my post was redundant; as I'm mildly drunk.)
Laptops are well worth it... Especially if your still gonna play habbo the screen will be tiny on a netbook! I use to have one but the cooling system was that crap it over heated and fried the motherboard. It was hp as well. I seriously don't recommend it. I'd save up for a laptop :) especially near Xmas the prices will be going down.
Just ugrade the ram? That's what I did. 2GB only costs £20.
A netbook is only worth it if your ALWAYS on the move.
Netbooks are fairly useful, but I don't see it as a replacement for a laptop to be honest, I just find my work netbook to be easier to carry with one arm tbh
I haven't used a normal sized laptop for years. I use an Asus EEE, more or less the same spec as a good 15" laptop.
i would rather a laptop, the size of the netbooks doesnt appeal to me. and even a laptop isnt hard to carry around, i throw mine in my backpack and take it 90 percent of the places i go. although if you were going to buy something , go with the new 11 inch macbook air. its amazing.
Amazing price too (£900 at least?)
actually, im pretty sure the 11 inch model is 999CAD, whereas in england, it would be approx. 500 pounds.
Europe dont pay taxes on things i believe? and apple dont add more.
okay, sorry, i didnt know. i was born there but only lived there 7 years so, didnt learn much about currency, etc.
