Oh noes.
Disassembling my rig to send back my motherboard is going to be a pain.
This'll be my third Windows reinstall in a week if I have to send my MoBo back :@
Judging from the replies at OCN it'll be a while, maybe a month + before the new revisions are implemented into the motherboards.
I wish Intel would post what causes it to fail, saying "under some circumstances" isn't very useful, it'd be nice to know if it was safe to carry on using the MoBo without losing data for a couple of months.
From what I can gather, there will be no data loss, just a decrease in read/write speeds and maybe access times.
Anyways, I can see it now; so many people will be sending their boards back, Asus will be overwhelmed and we will have to wait 3 weeks to get a new one back.
Knowing our luck, the conditions are probably overclocking :P
See, this is why I waited before considering SB. I can wait for all the glitches to go away.
Well this might be my chance to swap my mobo for the P version... but damn i'll need to buy thermal paste if I gotta send mine back :@
Damn that sucks! I will most probably wait for the revisions to come out before I upgrade from LGA775
Just bought mine last week, its currently as the post depot. Guessing I'd do a refund instead of sending an open product in.
Oh lord :(.
Edit: Looks like a problem with the SATA 2 Ports. Plug all your drives in the SATA 3s. At least we get 2 extra from Marvel on our Asus boards.

"They are saying that the problem is with ports 2-5 and that ports 0 + 1 work fine, no issues. The email I got also indicated that IF we use ports 2-5 that we should return the board to our suppliers immediately."
EDIT: Just saw above :P
I use 1, 2, 3, 4 and one of the SATA 6
Same, either way, waiting to see what ASUS have to say about their returns on these boards. Maybe when they replace mine it wont keep going to a black screen (fans full speed) and needing a BIOS reset every 2 days to get it back working.
Excellent news, I get to laugh at early adopters.
I'm going to carry on using mine till ASUS start RMA'ing them so meh
They should send out brand new boards without taking the old ones back. After all, if they're faulty, they can't really resell them can they?

Half wish I didn't get my MoBo from eBuyer now.
Got mine from Aria, great customer services so it's all good :D
This P8P67 is driving me nuts now, it'll randomly blank the screen and put the GPU fan up to 100%, tried both PCI-E slots and it worked fine on my old P5K Premium (and still does), thinking about jumping to a GigaByte board, not sure if I should wait till these new chips are being shipped though.
Does this effect both H67 and P67? As H67 only has 3GB SATA I won't risk a brand new HDD.
Yep, both the P's and H's.
I've RMA'd this piece of crap. The P8P67 motherboard to me seems totally unreliable. Just tried to reflash the BIOS (funilly enough using the CrashFree utility) and now it refuses to output any video. Fantastic. /sarcasm.
Hoping to get a Gigabyte board instead, not sure if I should wait for the new boards or just order a new mobo now.
Yeah but Intel were saying like 5% of boards were affected weren't they? I could be prepared to take the chance and if it dies on me later return it to GigaByte under warranty.
Got my shipping info through from eBuyer to send this POS back. Got a GigaByte P67A-UD3P arriving tomorrow, I'm not waiting until what could be April for a fixed chipset, I'm only using my DVD drive and eSATA port on the 2Gb/s ports anyway which I barely use.
Is there a page setup for returns on eBuyer or have you just returned regularly? Can't seem to find any mention of it except the forums.
I returned it through their returns system, not because of the Sandybridge issue but because of all the other issues I'm having (and in trying to fix it, the problem is now worse! LMAO).
Filed the RMA last night, rang today, they picked up after like 30 seconds, asked for the RMA number, my name and email and two minutes later I'd got the emails through saying the guy had approved free courier collection and that the RMA had been approved.
Just hope they find the fault or else you'll land yourself a nasty testing charge :p
