Maybe HabboxForum could set up a Japan donator or VIP and give the funds to RedCross or something like that, just an idea :P

Wouldn't it take about a year to get the permission to sell the donator from our Habbo overlords, if VIP is mentioned? It might be a bit too soon to suggest this, the Japanese may not need assistance. It depends on what they decide.

You can't buy VIP... you're not allowed. Donator yes go for it, I'm sure I would try and buy some!
If all causes went to charity they'd be able to sell VIP.
I think its a great idea however its up to Jin shes hes the financial expert :P
This is one of the things where the decision would have to come from Jin himself, as it would mean any donations Habbox gets would be going to the Red Cross charity, like Aiden has said he's the financial expert. VIP can only be sold when all money goes to charity and not Habbox themselves.
I'll see If I can get some sort of answer.
It's a really nice idea but as Matt said it's up to Jin to decide this really, so we'll have to wait!

Yeh, but the thing is why do it for Japan and not New Zealand, or when the next quake strikes. It could be people demanding too much after a while, if you get what I'm saying.

I'd definitely buy it! Seeing as I love Japan so much, and was just heartbreaking to see the wonderful scenery washed away.
What if we did the donator/VIP in the Japanese Flag's colors? Or we got that little userbar thing (I'm not sure what to call it) and it said: Japan Tsunami/Earthquake Donator/VIP with a little japanese flag on the right? That would be coool.

I'd buy anything donater or vip or whatever, I want to help :) Since, this is a very big disaster, not everywhere had an 8.9 earthquake, Tsnami, nucelar leaking, oil rigs in flames ect... And if you donate it to redcross it would most likely go to other places too :)
If you are donating, it will go for a charity. Habbox is not going to send a person directly to Japan to distribute the money LOL. Although it is one of the big problems with many charities, that a lot of the money is fused into other things. Habbox is not a charity and I think in a way doing it for a disaster is quite selfish, because I know quite a few people posted in this thread simply because they would want the VIP and will probably forget why they bought it in a month's time. If you really care go donate via external outlets and not Habbox.Quote:

At the end of the day Habbox can't do a charity for every disaster, sometimes there is a very big issue where Habbox may choose to do something, but also remember that financially people who buy VIP probably won't buy donator, and more importantly are less likely to buy during the Christmas donations drive.
So the question is, do you really want to donate to the Japanese earthquake? Yes, it's a humanitarian tragedy, I agree, but at the end of the day because of Japan's strict building codes, damage was minimized, though there's a lot of problems. That said, Japan has one of the world's strongest economies and a stable government, and they're getting aid from abroad.
If there is a massive need for funds, we'll probably see that in a week or two, but I doubt it will be the case. If anything, we can wait for that to see if the funds are needed, but I doubt the shortfall will be as significant as things like the disaster in Haiti, or the floods in Pakistan.

Matt and I have just had a chat and have decided that Habbox will not be doing anything special for Japan at the moment, as I said earlier if you want to donate to the red cross you can however Japan have not asked for International Aid at this point.
