That is taking it too far D:.
He sees an iPad more important than his kidney? How absurd.
He also got a laptop.
Apparently organ trafficking in China is fairly common due to the lack of organ donors.
What has the world come to, that's just taking it a bit too far.. :S
"The boy's mother alerted police after she found out but they were unable to locate the broker as his phone was switched off.
The hospital was not authorised to perform organ transplants, and claimed they had no idea about the surgery because the department had been contracted to a businessman from a neighbouring province, reports said."
what lol how could he have got his kidney removed so easily O.o
His choice, although on his head be it.
wow thats crazy :l
As it went ahead and he wanted to do it - it was his choice. The same applies to anyone who murders or steals and so forth, it may be illegal but they made that choice and should suffer the consquences. In this case however with selling organs, I don't think he should be taken to court/trialed for something that doesn't hurt anybody else but himself.
He sold his kidney in order to obtain an iPhone, his choice completely.
Two things surprised me about this:
1.) Why would you do that?
2.) Kidneys are worth a lot of Apple hardware. ;)
I don't see why he'd do it but it was his choice.
Oh gosh. I guess he wanted an iPhone (and laptop) that bad. I don't think his mom will pay the bills either lol.
I don't blame him, technology today is so over-rated and it just shows what extremes people will go to for the "best new thing"
What's he gonna do when the next iPhone comes out soon... sell his liver? Organs are more important than electronics/money ;l
Gutted when iPhone 5 comes out.
This dude obviously hasnt heard of Contract...
Was debating something in my class last week regarding body parts for sale, and i think you could sell a Lung for £5,000 but a heart for £2,500, interesting
Was actually an iPad2, just saying lol.

Well, you have two for a reason!
1. Okay this is just crazy
2. A Kidney sells a lot more than that?! Looks like we was really desperate to get an iPad
Personally, I think this is pretty ridiculous. I understand there were probably alot of influences in his life about getting all the latest gadgets, but selling a Kidney for that? I wouldn't sell my kidney for an IPad or IPhone any day. Meh.
I realize that you don't need both kidneys, but as I said I wouldn't give it away for payment like that. I'd rather give it away for free to people who really need it, then for some payment. As I said 'My opinion.' :D
This almost sounds like 'organ slavery'. I think it is quite appalling. :(
his kidney for an iphone. he's out of his mind seriously
That's mad business. Its just a phone..
wow that is a bit too far..
That is a bit too far, but I assume they had the operation for the money and just bought the iPhone off the proceeds. If they literally traded an iPhone for a kidney, then you should be concerned, but I have a feeling Apple only trade through money, not body organs :P
I'm not sure why people are so shocked by this, I would totally sell my kidney for the things he got.
Now this guys got the right idea, its not like you even need the 2ed kidney. Although I wouldn't get tech which goes out of date so fast, maybe a car instead...
I like how many people say 'LOL GOD GAVE US 2 KIDKNEEZ DNT NED BOTH' when in reality living with one kidney is possible but UTIs (Urinary tract infections) can be commonplace and you have to be far more stringent with regards to diet and lifestyle when you only have one kidney. Your quality of life in the long term would/could be diminished, possibly severely - just for a short burst of dopamine fueled immediate gratification. Furthermore, if you have problems with your current kidney, good luck fighting with the droves of other people in need of a kidney transplant. Not only this, but with the privatisation of the NHS looming ahead, selling a kidney could end up costing you more than it earns you in the long run if you run into any complication at all.
Gutted if he ever gets problems with his other kidney.
Least he can use facetime whilst in hospital on dialysis.
