Skullcandy??? :)
If you like in ear headphones, hmv are usually good had mine about 3 years and there still in good tac :)
I have a pair of Skullcandy 'DUB's at the moment, £7 from HMV and I haven't regretted them at all just yet to be honest. Most of the pairs you'll find in HMV are pretty good, I had some HMV Caps (£5) for over a year before replacing them.
If you're looking for the best build quality you should probably go for Sennheisers, the only downside being they're rarely very colourful compared to others you can get.
I have Nixon "The Trooper" cans. They are amazing. A little pricey but worth it :)

£5 free delivery SUPERB quality you can't go wrong...
Seconding Shaz's recommendation, they're the only ones I buy any more! Also when I bought mine in-store they gave me a years warranty, so if they break (for any reason) I get a new pair. Warranty's only £1.50 and I'm pretty clumsy so it's pretty much just free earphones!
I also have a pair of SkullCandy Pro. Which are immense haha.

Skullcandy are crap, Sennheiser are meh and HMV are horifically overpriced.
Get some Audio Technicas. I have a pair of soundMAGIC MP-21 in-ears, highly recommended considering their price: http://www.hifiheadphones.co.uk/soun...odid-2080.html
Those GUMY ones are absolutely terrible - frequency range is shocking, don't buy them.
I recommend some Sennheiser earphones - you did say earphones and not headphones, right?
Edit: The above are decent too :)
Anything not Skullcandy, <£20 or Sennheiser. Definitely not Sony and not Bose.
SoundMagic headphones are pretty good for the price. I have PL11's and they are great :)

Can't go wrong for earphones.
We really should start not talking about earphones, at least until we know a little more about what the OP wants.
had a look up town, really wasn't sure :/

these look good though, think they'd be my best bet?
Fantastic, and they've lasted a lot longer than any other earphones I've had and are pretty decent for their price. They come with like 6 different ear size attachments, and a mic+headphone splitter cable so you can use them on phones, computers etc.
They have a version without the mic, exactly the same apart from that, called the PL-21s if I remember right.
