Nooope. Am avoiding work for as long as I can. Thankfully I have no need for one at the moment since I'm at uni and living off loans. Although I know by the time summer rolls around my dad is going to get really pissed off at me for doing nothing, then I'll say how it's my life and the times have changed, it's not exactly easy to get a job anymore, let alone one you enjoy doing, then we'll argue and probably won't talk to each other for a while. That's been my summer for the past two years. Seriously though, I hate work. I have anxiety and am literally useless at any job where I have to actually communicate with people. /lifestory
i do. i work at burger king :L
You already know, @[@]scott[/@], but I will recount for the others.
I work for a magazine. It is marketed to French women and is kind of like the American magazine 'Cosmo' in the sense that it caters to sex, fashion and love from a woman's point of view. That being said, I have nothing to do with writing it. My job is to take the content from the print version of the magazine that will go to newsstands and work with a team of five other people to digitise it so it is ready for sale and subscription on mobile platforms like the iPad line.
I don't do a lot of the coding or animation (some videos are included in the digital copy) work - others on the team are specialised in that. My job mainly focuses around graphics and mostly simple ones at that. As I mentioned, the magazine I work for is about women but there is also a home and furnishing magazine owned by the same conglomerate that I have done work on when they need extra help. I am on a flexible contract so they move me around sometimes. It is a satisfying job because I only have a deadline and no daily hours but it doesn't pay very much and since it doesn't force me to go outside it can be isolating if I have no motivation. I am happy, though!
I work 13 hours a week as a junior gym instructor. :P
IT Techie :P
no but i want one. all i could really have right now is a weekend job considering im busy through the week but thats not gonna happen. my uni course is only timetabled 2 days a week after summer so im gonna look for one during then. i do a little volunteering at church & at a children's library every so often though.
Manager in a call centre.
i volunteer at a youth club as a dj if that counts aha. still looking for a job, its so hard wow.
I've been looking for work for ages. I worked as a temp over 2 xmas's at HMV. It was fun but the 2nd year they were horrible so I won't be working for them again. However I am starting a training course next week to become an Admin professional (I sound posh). I'll get an NVQ at the end in admin, sage, payroll & book keeping. So hopefully with that under my belt I'll be able to find something more suitable for myself instead of retail.
Been looking for a job for ages but uni time means that it's hard to find a flexible one that'll fit in my studies. Neversoft pretty much summed up my summer as well except that I'd rather have work to do no matter how trivial or unpleasant it is :P
i'm at uni and don't want/need a job.
yes i work at a petrol station
it sucks
Yeah, I work in Sainsburys. Used to work the checkouts and despised it, so I got a move to the café in it as soon as they're was an opening.
nope, on the dole. £450 overdrawn yay.
na used to work at mcdonalds, which i actually quite enjoyed even if it was hell on earth. looking for a job every week down at my good friend the jjob centre but there really isn't much around.
i'd only be able to do weekends at the moment anyway with looking after my sister which sucks.
before i had my job i went to job centre (every 2 weeks i think) and they were meant to try and help you find a job, they were so useless! They didn't even bother and then they had like training courses and things like that and come away with 'oh no you can't do that unless you've been unemployed for X amount of time" great thanks for the help :(
oh yeah the job centre is ****. it's more a benefit office than what it claims to be, i'm going on friday (woo). they know i'm going back to uni in september so they've really given up with finding me a job and they'd prefer just to give me the £112 (YES ITS GONE UP) every 2 weeks.
they won't send me on a lot of stuff (there was a retail open day last week) because i've been employed before which is a bit like ... what.
Oh yeah, I was on jobseekers for a few months, they're absolutely useless. All they did was check their website, and tell me to apply for certain things, the exact same thing I was doing at home 3/4 times a week anyway.
They eventually sent me on some 'work programme' where it was the exact same crap, after 6 months or so, I never had one interview, and they never checked on what I was doing, they just went on what I wrote down. They were just interested in getting me out the door as quick as possible. Eventually got the job in sainsburys, when a friend who already worked in there told me it was coming up, and I got in there early.
no, but i've been applying EVERYWHERE since i ever came down to uni. it's ridiculous how hard it is to get a job here, i'd actually happily clean toilets on the weekends for some money. i'm not even joking. it's not like i don't even have experience - i've had 3 jobs and one of them was with John Lewis, and everyone knows how professional/expert in customer care they are. dammit!
lol wheres ma fries pls
OT: no i dont have a job, i'd rather not have one because all I could get at this point is generic bottom of the ladder stuff, which is ******** because I'd rather do something I enjoy but I can't because all that counts to these people is what you have on paper even though you have more than enough experience :P! college it is later this year.
I work as a glass collector in a night club and have an interview for a mcdonalds role tonight (yn) :) I feel its important to start work early (so long as it doesnt effect your education if your still in education) as it gives you a sense of responsibility and I find I am far better off :)
Yeah I work in a tearoom doing waitressing and being a chef in the kitchen, I work the 2/3 days a week im not at college :)
nope, i'm hoping to get one when i get into college though.
i dont really want one or need one at the moment (whilst i'm in secondary school), i'd rather wait a little while.
retail operative at primark every sunday lol. looking for a new job but it's impossible.
I am currently looking for a job, but because of my age it is very limited, so I might be starting work experience at the near by emergency vet soon, so when I do get a job, it'll look great on my CV!
But I realllllly want a job!!
Nah not got a job, never had one, I should be looking now though, I finish College soon so I need one.
No I don't but I've been looking for one. I have applied and had promising replies but I don't know really, it is so hard to find anything now. I want one for the summer holidays though as I finish school earlier than the other years so have a longer summer holiday and will get bored :(
