Ordered tickets for Thursday at 8pm, really really really excited!! I'm reading the books at the moment, on Catching Fire and I'm loving them so far.
It's my bday on 26th so I've managed to con my dad into buying them. can't wait, was worried that they'd turn it into twilight but it sounds like they've stayed true to the books :D
i honest to god have never heard of it until about 4 weeks ago on tumblr. doesn't look like my kind of thing at all.
yeah i only seen it from tumblr but it sounds like battle royale? from what i've read.. is it? cause then i want to read the books.
I'm too excited.
I got the books but I'm unable to continue reading the second one. When my dad comes back tonight we're booking tickets for Friday!! Um, I'm so excited I can't even oh my god.
I know I'm gonna cry so much though. It's going to be amazinggggg!
Sosososo excited for this film! I love the books so dearly that I just want it to be as good as it can be and the reviews look really positive!
Theres obvs gonna be some changes but like Mike said, it looks like they've stayed true to the books and it does look fabulous!
I'm hopefully seeing it thursday at 8pm but if not then im deffo seeing it saturday!
The books are as bad, if not worse than Twilight. A poorly cobbled together story which rips off several novels and films which are already well established in popular culture. As if that wasn't bad enough, the author had to throw in a love triangle along with the female narrative to fill in the wish-fulfillment shaped hole which Twilight left in the market. But fair does to whoever marketed the film because they've managed to wrangle in a large amount of people who will go to their graves swearing that Twilight is the worst thing unsliced bread yet will happily pay money to see a film adaptation of a book which is also absolute garbage.
The premise does sound a lot like BR, Running Man and many other works (none of which you'll find credited for inspiration or acknowledged anywhere however).
The books themselves are just plain badly written. I mean beyond the story and the poorly-disguised plagiarism, the sentence structure and grammar are just horrible. The whole thing reads like it's been written by a child. Never mind that they're written in first person...
I loved the books so hopefully this film will be just as good :) going to see it on sunday :D
Harry Potter rips off several novels and films as well, that has never really bothered me if it intrigues me. I never said it wasn't flawed, the writing can be appauling at times, her flowery poetic prose and lack of subtlety are irritating at times. Despite that, I would disagree that the love triangle is like Twilight in the sense that Katniss is not dependent on Peeta/Gale in the way that Bella is on Edward. There is a political dimension to the books that I like that is missing in the Twilight novels. I read books based on whether I like the story not on its sentence structure. I enjoyed the story and so yes, I will happily pay money to see the film.
Saw it a week ago and it's surprisingly good.
I dunno who this chap is that's saying that they're poorly written because they're really not, the love triangles unnecessary I'll admit and peetas pathetic but the arena scenes are really good
who cares if it's influenced by BR and the running man? what's the problem?
Not saying it's a problem, just an easy way of describing what the film's about
OMG The Hunger Games, big fan :D
Read all the books and will be seeing it on the 23rd at 6, really can't wait :D
I don't understand the appeal, acting looks quite awful.
I can't go :( I've been waiting for this film since last year and to be told I can't go is pretty heart breaking, nonetheless if and when it comes out on DVD i'll be first inline to buy it ;3
My friend booked 7 tickets for the midnight screening and I got one of them, so I'm going tonight only a little bit under 7 hours to go :D
cant wait for the film, im like so excited!!1 ahhhhhhhhh
read all the books, hope they dont get spolit by the film
i had no idea what this was till about a week ago, my sister got the books and i read all three in three days. big fan of the books but im not sure how the movie will turn out. on one hand, the author wrote the screenplay, but on the other it's meant to be a violent book, and i can't see how much of it they'll keep in when the film is a 12. i know that sounds odd if you haven't read the books, but you know what i mean if you have.
like someone said, it's definitely going to turn into a twilight-esque hype train but the books are far superior to the twilight books and i can't imagine anything worse than the twilight films
My friend was informing me about this today and she said she's going to see the film, but if I didn't read the books first it would seem **** apparently because apparently there's only 7 seconds of blood/gore in the film (hence it being a 12) and it ruins the book if you compare how much blood and violence there is in the books e.g. Someone being torn apart by animals? (think that's one).
Might read the books if I can be bothered - however, the film did look intriguing when advertised.
I just came back from seeing it and it was much better than I expected!
Would have liked more of certain scenes and it needed more background info as my friend (who hasn't read the books) had a few questions but it didn't feel Twilight-y at all.
I didn't mind that there wasn't a lot of blood and gore because it was still quite intense! :)
(Obviously I still prefer the books but I was never bored watching it)
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
IT WAS FECKING UNREAL AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH OMG BEST FILM EVER AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
OMG I WAS LIKE AHHH THEN RUNNNN THEN NOOOOO THEN OOOO NICE THEN OMG EVERYONE DONT RUN TO THERE THEN OMG NOOOOOOOOOOO THEN AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW THEN RUNNNNNNNNNNNNN THEN AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH THEN AWWWW THEN :'( FOR 10MINS THEN AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH THEN OMG WATCH OUTTTTT THEN NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO THEN PHEWWWWWWWWWW THEN AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
and then the film actually started
10/10 unreal
sounds like such a rip of battle royale lol
writer of BR should of done her for plagiarism
but meh I'll probs watch it anyway after getting pissed off with the ios game :@
YES saw it last night i'm happy enough with it
they cut the romance a decent bit and even with the 12a rating i still felt that it came across quite dark
haymitch was PERFECT
very good movie - although some of the scenes weren't as I thought they'd be but thats expected :P
defo recommend it to those who haven't or dont plan on seeing it. 10/10
Oh god, I can't wait to see it tonight!!
I keep watching the trailers and stuff, I'm just so excited. :P
they also cut some of the training scenes and when the tributes were fighting at the start they cut most of the way they died out :( lol
want to see the +18 version ahhhhhh IT WAS UNREAL
FOXFACE IS A SINGER :o :o

Saw it at 8pm last night and LOVED it. It was really, really amazing and really similar to the book. Honestly can't wait for Catching Fire now haha :D
don't even know what it's about lalala
I've just got back from watching it. Oh my god, it was just so amazing. I cried for about half an hour after the big death, it tore me apart because it was just so sweet. Ugh, need to watch it again some time so more tears YAY!!
It's got great ratings, guess I'll get together some friends and see it on the weekend if it's really this amazing!
i saw it yesterday arowejiprawerj awepawe I LOVED IT!! Could of been abit more gorey but it was still amazinggg. So excited for catching fire now :D!!
Just watched it, it was perfect! amazing! i really like it! :D
as some may know, and as seen in my profile picture, i went to the European premiere
if you want any more pictures, like the ticket or the 1/2m poster i got or the book signed then just say ;)
it was a great movie, but if you like sitting near the front in a big screening, with a big screen, the camera makes you dizzy
and the green screening can be very terrible at times
thats all i have to say
:)
Amazing. Just come back from watching it and it was everything I'd hoped and more. The added scenes that weren't in the book really added to the film and President Snow was terrifying! I was worried that there'd be 'team peeta' fangirls who'd scream/shriek in delight everytime he did something sweet or romantic but the only annoying person in the cinema was my sister sat next to me asking my dad questions every 10 minutes. arghhh. Thought they did a good job at adapting the book. Only gripe I'd have is that "I WATCHED YOU EVERY NIGHT" is not romantic, it's gross. :P
Got back from watching it about 4 hours ago and I've only just stopped shaking :o :o and it wasn't physically that scary, it's just the idea of children being pushed together and having to fight to the death: kill or be killed.
