Does anyone else miss how Habbo used to be?
I don't play anymore, but there's a reason for that.
There's no sense of community about it anymore, someone told me staff don't even go on the hotel? *Sigh*
So much for Paul Lafontaine.

I quit just before the merge. Everything that was how it was when i started changed and the newer generation of people who started playing annoyed me.
I miss the old 2006/7 days.
All downhill from the merge basically.
It is a little funny how people say the same thing year after year, in 2007 everybody missed 2005 etc etc. Paul is a fool, but then Lost_Witness did plenty to ruin habbo as well - people have just forgotten.
And dont forget bucho6 giving away frost dragons making them drop in value by like 40t from 71t to 30t LMAO
Every manager has made their own mistakes.
#Kitano.
But seriously, who's the hotel manager?
I don't think there is one? I thought it was Fozzie and Puffin at one time.
Me and a few mates were talking about the old e-famuz kids and Blissa was mentioned haha.
Also I must have been the only one who thought Lost_Witness was the best HM then...
for me the merge killed it.
every country had there own hotel and managed by staff in that country . they had a feeling what promos to run and comps best suited to its community. when habbo uk was down for a maintenance everyone would log onto habbo usa and vice versa.
but times change and time moves on.
but habbo uk numbers alone were a lot higher now than habbo.com right now
I think a lot of changes have taken place for the worst and better. But I personally do miss the localised Habbo communities. It is quite different now.
I think we just grew up to be honest! Most of us had been on for such a long time that nothing was new and exciting anymore. And just as that is with everything else, once there's nothing new to learn, its boring! Plus with more people our age leaving habbo it left us with the younger generation who, in our view, are very annoying just like we would have been in the eyes of people our age back then.
but I would admit, some of the changes made for the worse and not the better.
I still play but the removal of events ruined it for me, I've started getting back into it but its definitely not the same.
Ye the removal of the events killed a lot for me, especially being one of the leading merches.
Imo though the merge although at first it seemed horrible, it was incredibly useful for the development of the market, and for what I do that was a pretty good thing. It is also nice to actually now have people online if your staying up very late lmaooo.
Also is it me or are there no decent competitions any more? Like the Diner Races (with the flag badges), Summer Resorts or the old-style Habboween/Valentine comps. Oh that's another thing; badges used to be a challenge to collect.
Badges have never bothered me personally, they seem completely pointless which is why I always keep my 5 badge slots completely empty.
Sort of glad there's less badge comps and stuff now as means friends dont go on about them so much.
You get badges for everything now, it's silly. It used to be fab when you saw someone with a badge, it was awesome.
i liked how it was before no merge
What did Lost_Witness did? I can't think of any big mistake, but I didn't know what was going on then that well.. S:
I've started playing in 2009, quit, only came back in 2010. I had the account Kikali31 and was pretty rich (not casino owners rich, but had a fair amount of coins and good rares). Then got banned in that account and in my new one I had to start shopping. I couldn't believe how much things had changed. The first dicemaster I bought in early 2011 was 3c, now they are like 12c, for example. It's way too much and I dislike it. :/
lmao personally change in the market is wonderful for me, provides lots of opportunity and stops items settling at a price that makes that item unmerchable, its driven by us leading merchants and the investers now anyway and its like such control is great now. I would agree tho dicemasters are ridiculously priced now lmao.
Still will never get the fuss with badges though, they are just a badge and I have never ever collected them or made any attempt to get them ha ha
*bows down to your superiority*
No but really with the badges thing it was one of the things that brought some players to Habbo, as did competitions and events. It may not necessarily be the main reason why somepeople played but for others it made events and what not worth competing in, especially if it was a rare badge (pretty much all the badges were rare though, to be fair).
It's obvious to see the large decrease in users, but Habbo is still an attractive site, it's just getting people on it. I'd like to think that this is just a down point for them.
ha ha i didnt mean it in that way ;o sorry if it came out wrong
mm yea i completely understand that it had that effect though with badges, just never personally felt bothered by them myself, probably because I've always been too profit hungry to care for things that dont make money ha ha
i think habbo has definately gone downhill... i miss the 05/06 days, it'd be cool if habbo had like a 'Habbo Classic' mode, similar to RS classic...
I remember that feeling ... when I first started playing and you could only show one badge, like ... I was sooo jealous of when I saw people who had badges. When I finally got my first badge I literally was so excited.
This.
Like when Habbo BETA was in the works and they still had the shockwave version and then the flash version ... that was fine with me, giving us options at least.
I personally don't value the achievements badges and kickwars badges as they are unecessary and too much in number so they become pointless.
