The assorted forum has no benefit to the forum whatsoever. It was just forgotten about and so it wasn't worth it being there. Christmas forum posts are still there and the post count hasn't been removed from them.
It wasn't forgotten about, people were still posting in there, but I'm pretty sure we can't check that now since it's been removed... I can see subforums on here that are less used than Assorted/Misc but are still around, so I don't understand why it's been removed. Of course it's just brought the previous problem back, and it might see an increase considering 100 posts gets you VIP now...Quote:

And in regards to post count boosting, what are the rules to that? Because two people aren't allowed to consecutively post after each other, but obviously this is based on some sort of time scale, since it's not against the rules for someone to post many hours after the other person...

As for other subforums (Nintendo etc) I don't see the point in removing SOME but leaving some still - it should either be completely merged or all separate, to avoid a bit of confusion. I'll have a look at them, usually a forum I stay away from for the most part, there's got to be a happy medium somewhere between non-used subforums and one huge amalgamated forum where you can never find what you want.
The new award just encourages spamming, especially in the threads which used to be in assorted/misc... I know the idea is to encourage posting but this is kind of the opposite effect. Ok, you're getting more posts, but you're getting much less interesting and important content and it could actually be off-putting for new users who come to the forum and can only see irrelevant spam for the most part, from users who just want another award or some VIP.

The thing is Habbox Management give post count a value by disallowing it in certain places and allowing it in others. If we just scrapped post count altogether or allowed it everywhere then there wouldn't be an issue. But now, they've gone back to saying that random images are worthy of post count whereas some spam threads, which actually have valuable discussion, aren't worthy.Quote:

Just because they allow oppourtunity for complex replies, doesn't mean they avoid the rules. 'What are you wearing' for example 'Jeans and T-Shirt' is deemed acceptable but is only a few words. Also regarding the post any images thread I think a common sense kind of rule should be put in place so anyone who's just copying an image that's easily available from the page they're on (e.g. another members image, another members sig, a 'reply to thread' button, a rep block or whatever else) would be considered against the rules and said member warned/contacted.
I agree :P But then how do you police such a thing? They could just go to the page before? And it's called 'Post ANY image', and those are images :PQuote:

When i asked the thread to be made i'm sure I commented on posting the same image multiple times (not sure if this is a note or rule or if it's even in the thread)

As you previously said can't beat them join in, then do the same as they do and find random images ;)
It is a random image :P (Technically, it's not a random image, since the human brain can't do anything 'random'). And the multiple images is a note, purely because it can't be a rule because the moderators would have to go through every single post.Quote:

This new VIP posting scheme, all well and good except that the people that get 100 posts/week normally each week will then win VIP each week and have unlimited VIP and therefore will never need to buy donator. Obviously it might not have much of an impact if those people win VIP enough for them not to buy it anyway, but would it not impact donations slightly?
doubt many people buy donator to begin with as vip is easy to obtain, especially as most people have a years vip for the latest haven't they?
Yeah, I suspected this, but if there are a few people out there that do buy donator, then surely this will kill them off if they're active enough (and you'd assume so if they were buying donator :P)Quote:
