Have you ever been fired / laid off?

What was the reason, how did it make you feel & how did you deal with the situation?


I got fired there a year ago or so ago, I was working in a factory. I accidentally sent a company a pallet of 130 folders instead of 13 folders lalala woops (in fairness I was only working there for a small period of time and it wasn't entirely my fault). I didn't know how to react when called into the office, I was just sat there listening to him saying he wouldn't be renewing my contract. I was thinking.. ****.. I asked the reason why and just man'd up, shook his hand and said thanks for the opportunity, in the end I got a good reference out of it.

yes I was head of school council for year 10 then they said I wasn't doing enough so gave the job to some girl ;(

No but I've only ever had 2 jobs and one was a temp position.

I got fired from Habbox twice, but I can't say why or I'd get in trouble :(.

I've never been fired from a real life job though :P.

she used to own a porn tumblr blog and she was forever promoting it until she got fired and she shut it down.

I was made a scapegoat and fired by Dundee City Council a couple of years back when I was a Modern Apprentice.

Never been fired. Although I worked at a golf course and we mainly used to mess around with the gator and one time we crashed it into a massive iron post and smashed the front end. Had already handed in my notice before this happened but if I hadn't then I guess we would have had been fired or at least had a disciplinary.

"Sort of" I guess

Was a temp for 3 years at some data input job nothing fancy or fun just needed it to keep my car running basically but then after my 3rd year renewal came forward they didn't renew it. Dunno if that really counts as firing since it wasn't technically a fully contracted job anyway but yeah. I got like an extra 3 weeks pay for no apparent reason and a really good reference so not too bothered
