If you have a group room, other users furni will count towards it! Well it did when I did mine a year or so ago. :)
Lol, I still need to do this. Haven't found anyone who will drop loads of different furni in my room yet :(
I had someone drop loads of snowboard slopes, roller rinks, and ice skating patches recently. It does count if it's other people's furni dropped in a group room, just as long as it's your room :).
