It's been a long time..

Wow, I can't believe Habbox is still going after all this time! After reminiscing with a friend about my old days on Habbo moments ago, I turned to Google to see if I could find any old screenshots of myself from years ago, but.. somehow ended up here instead.

The name's Mikey, I was mostly known as Scythe on the UK Habbo site between the years of 2004-2010. (formally known by my more embarrassing name of shady.18 from 2003-2004) A couple of months after the original UK mod team were dismissed in 2010, I logged into the Hotel to visit one day. Sadly it was to be my last, as I foolishly clicked on a tumblr link given to me by a friend (who unknowing to me, was actually hacked at the time), and well.. I never saw my account again.

Moving on, I mostly stopped by here to see how Habbo is actually doing these days. It's been 3 years now since I last checked into the site, have things changed much since? Are things better or worse these days?
I'm also hoping to find a couple of old friends from back then too around here, would be awesome to catch up sometime. ;)

Anyway, that's it for my intro. Hi! <3

Scythe rings a bell somehow. Welcome to the forum :)

I remember seeing you around on the UK site, in your role as a Hobba. Unfortunately I no longer play, the game became to complicated haha!

Someone is sure to read your thread and post a screenie for you.

Welcome back :)

Welcome to the forum hehe x :)

Check out www.habbox.com/comps whilst you're around!

welcome :)

welcome to habbox :)

Hello - Welcome to Habbox man!

As a newcomer to the habbo world I think its pretty good but got nothing like the history of the hotel to compare too.

Hey there, Welcome to Habbox :)

I remember you. Good times. :)

Welcome back to the forum! :D

Welcome :).
Honestly. I personally think habbo got really complicated when it merged into one.
It's still highly addictive though.

Recognise the name actually?! Habbo's changed alot! Too much to explain :P

ah yes i remember u very well..

I recognise shady.18 as a Hobba :)

Things are generally much worse after the merge (All English speaking hotels are now one hotel), moderation is outsourced and so the quality of moderation is poor. You can get someone banned/muted for reporting them and making up something in the report box. Also, the number of staff is pretty low, there's barely any staff community interaction anymore.

I am sure I remember you.

Welcome back. :)

Hey guys, thanks a lot for the welcomes. It's great to see a friendly corner of the Habbo community still exists. :)
While I likely won't be returning to Habbo again (unless by some miracle, I get my account back), I will be sure to pop in here from time to time. I have to admit though, I am curious to see just how much it has changed since I was last online. Has there been any majorly awesome updates over the last 3 years or so?

@MissAlice; - Woah, I totally remember you! I think I used to see you from time to time whenever I'd hang out with Lix or Dragon-nccb. Sadly I never did find a screenshot to show my friend, although I did find a couple of amusing threads of someone pretending to be me, heh. (Apparently someone made an account called Scythe-PERMED after I lost my account, claiming to be me.. lol) Anyway, hope you're doing well these days. :)

@Kardan; - Wow, that's some memory you have there! I really didn't expect anyone to remember that name, haha. I feel happy that someone did though. Kinda sad to hear that moderation is still outsourced though, it still bugs me slightly that we got replaced by these people who don't seem to have a clue to actually moderate. (I got the "pleasure" of working alongside some of them in earlier 2010 before they made us redundant) Who knows though, maybe things will improve eventually.

Again, thanks for the welcomes. I'll be sure to pop in here again whenever I get some free time. <3

Why do you seem so fricken familiar yet I have no idea why?!

Welcome back

I asked Matt to search for you, and Shady.18 was all he could find. The avatar looks familiar to me, but only you can say otherwise. Am I right in thinking you tended to always wear black?

I think in later years you perhaps weren’t so visible.

Yeah I met Lix and and dragon-nccb after I became a Habbo X, and were among the many friends I would hang out with, prior to that I spent a lot of time with some quite remarkably kind and dedicated Hobbas, springmoon, MultipleChris, Mizki, jrh2002, protone. It was a sad day when Hobbas were forced to retire.

I wish you luck trying to get your account back, but from what I read here on the forum, it will be difficult. Good luck though :)

Welcome
